Ringlets at crown, less definition in length

ClairechClairech Registered Users, Curl Ambassador Posts: 3 Curl Neophyte
I've been following the CGm for about 4 months now. Prior, I didn't straighten my hair super often so I haven't started out with extensive heat damage.
I've found recently that my over all definition has declined however I have very definited, classic ringlets on the under layer of my hair, right at the scalp?
Does anyone know why this is and/or how I can get more consistent definition?

My current styling products are she's moisture curl smoothie and a V05 gel (I forget which one)

Welcome to CurlTalk!  Very pretty ringlets!

Your hair looks like it's very healthy, so you must be on the right track.  But after 4 months you may need a clarifying shampoo.  We can get build up even with all CG products, so giving your hair a really good cleaning once in a while can help get everything back to normal.  Use a sulfate shampoo that has no silicones, just once.  You might want to deep condition afterwards.  Hopefully you'll get your definition back after that.

    Thank you :)

I do us one every once in a while but only on my scalp and let it run down my ends. Maybe I need to work it into my ends too.

Try clarifying with a sulfate as suggested. It could also be seasonal. Humidity and dew points can change our patterns a bit.

Using a sulfate shampoo all over and scrubbing it into the length really helped. My curl pattern is still tighter at the top but that could just be where its grown out.

    Thank you!
