Hair always itches after wash day?

NatashaDWNatashaDW Registered Users Posts: 34 Curl Connoisseur
Hi guys,
I have low porosity hair and I have an issue I've been having for years. I figured that it's due to a lack of moisture, but when after wash day       (shampoo and deep condition, and put my leave in in), the next day after my hair is itchy! It's been like this always, and I always moisturize my hair the next day and it does help.
Currently I'm using Renpure Super 7 oils shampoo and Aussie's 3 minute deep condition (I use a dryer for 30 minutes)
As a leave out, I take the aussie conditioner, and mix it with some some water, spray it in my hair and put avocado oil on top to seal.
Any tips? does anyone else experience this?

Have you tried using a no-poo instead of shampoo?  My itchy scalp went away when I started doing CG.  It might be reacting to something in your hair products.

Hi! I actually don't know what CG means. Is it curly girl? And I've tried things like co washing and I feel like the product builds up and I need my scalp to be clean haha :)

Yes, CG is Curly Girl. I think that @Guide 65 is referring to the fact that many shampoos have harsh ingredients.

Since this problem occurs only after wash day, it might have something to do with something in the products you are using. Maybe try a different shampoo and see if you have the same problem?

That's exactly what I plan to do! I think it may be the products! thanks

Could it just be the skin is a bit irritated from vigorous scrubbing and it would happen no matter what products you use?

I agree it may be the products are the hair manipulation. Keep note of the product ingredients, because it may be just one particular ingredient.

That's a possibility, because my hair definitely has a history of itchiness, but also dryness. I try not to scrub too but I should keep it in mind

I'm its the products. I just brought Cream of Nature shampoo and a giovanni conditioner. I searched up the products and  hope they help my hair!

The others had great suggestions. Another thing to try is not getting any conditioner on your scalp, so conditioning from ear down. (Yes, I laugh when I hear this suggestion as I don't know how to detangle my roots without some sort of conditioner, but it is something to try if nothing else works)
