Second day hair in humidity?

I know it isn't quite summer yet, but it is getting warm and humid where I live. I grew up in Arizona, so I have absolutely no idea how to deal with my hair in the humidity. On wash days, my hair is fine, but it seems that my curl refreshing routine does not work so well anymore. I usually spritz my second day curls with a mix of water and conditioner and sometimes I'll add a little leave-in conditioner too if my hair is extra dry. But it seems that re-wetting my curls only leads to poofier hair. I don't mind the volume, but I am losing a lot of curl definition. Any advice from people who actually know how to deal with humidity?

Hi I've not delt with humidity, since I'm usually a house potato lol. BUT! I've have seen ladies talk about it alot. From what you said you seem to be missing a product from your humidity routine. Have you tried gels? They are great for holding your curls.

• Eco Styler Gel (Olive oil or Moroccan Argan Oil) 
• As I Am Twist Defining Cream
• Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel
• Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea All Natural Curl Defining Crème 
• Bumble and Bumble Defrizz

I do use gel on wash days- the devacurl ultra hold gel. But it seems that it doesn’t hold off the frizz on my second day hair...

Are you using any leave-in products with glycerin or aloe high up on the ingredients list? Many curlies have a problem with glycerin in humid weather. A smaller amount also have a problem with aloe.

Second @Creole Princess. South Carolinian here, and a really hard hold gel is your answer. Scrunch out the crunch once it is dry and it will help keep humidity at bay.
