What can I use instead of conditioner??

I have (mostly) 2c hair, medium to high porosity, long, on the thin side and thick.
I have never been able to use conditioner on my hair and until recently I also haven't been able to use hair oil.
I've started following the CG method a few months ago, switched to sulfate,silicone,alcohol-free products. In the last few years I've tried a lot of different conditioners, but every single one left my hair limp and stuck to my head, it got greasy and oily in less than 24 hours (I usually wash my hair once in 7-10 days), it lost the little volume it had (when I just use shampoo I don't have any problems with volume), it didn't curl right and by the next day it barely had any wave left.
Is there something I could use instead of conditioner? (My hair is not super-dry, but it's not as moisturised as it should be to be healthy.)
I haven't found an answer anywhere, or heard anyone else has this problem, and because the CG method is based on conditioner, I haven't seen any alternatives to using conditioner.

I am not sure if you are talking about using a conditioner as such or using it as a leave-in. Typically, if you are rinsing it out there shouldn't be an issue. If you are talking about using conditioner as a shampoo then try actually using a sulfate free shampoo. I think the Nourish shampoo from Trader Joe's is a great gentle cleanser. It has coco betaine which would be surfactant. It's only $3.

While CG method is a great starting point it may not work for everyone. As I always say let your hair be your guide.
