How to store cut aloe vera leaf?

islandchickislandchick Posts: 5Registered Users Curl Neophyte
I've recently bought a whole aloe vera leaf from my local flea market and plan to use it on my skin and hair. I've looked up DIY videos where they say it can be stored in the fridge for 10-15 days when the cut part is wrapped in plastic, but I'm confused. Does the exposed part of the plant last for 10-15 days or the whole leaf? I honestly can't imagine fitting a whole leaf in the fridge, that's too much. Thanks in advance for your answers.

You must have gotten a really big leaf!  Do you have a cool, dark place you can store it?  A basement or cellar?  If not, just find the coolest place in your house to keep it.  Make sure no sun gets to it, and keep the cut end wrapped up.
