What is my hair type and why is it important?

    Hi @Drystin,

    I would guess 3c. As for it's importance, it isn't that important. It is mostly a descriptor. It can have some effect on how you style your hair, but really other hair properties are much more important, especially your hair width (coarse, medium, fine), porosity (high, medium, low), and density (high, medium, low) to some extent. These have much more of an influence on the types of products and techniques are more likely to work with your hair.     Your hair definitely looks like 3c hair. But it also appears that you may have product in your hair. So unless your hair is product free, it can be difficult to give an accurate curl pattern. Maybe send some photos without products. Also, how long is your hair?
