Does mousse alter your curl type?

CdalyCdaly Posts: 10Registered Users, Curl Ambassador Curl Neophyte
Today my hair was frizzy and loose, I washed my hair with conditioner and put curl defining mousse in my hair. My curls have now shrunk and are much more tight and defined. Has my pattern been altered by the mousse or was it my natural hair type all along?

Your hair has not been permanently altered.

It is mostly your natural pattern, it may have given you a little extra boost.

What mousse was it?  Curious Curls need to know.

I believe that it's difficult to say that a person's curl pattern is such-and-such. Humidity and styling products change the curl pattern; they may emphasize it or loosen it. I can range from 2a to 2c, based on these factors, so I just say I am 2b.
Low poo: Intelligent Nutrients (IN) Harmonic; Oribe Cleansing Creme
    RO: IN Harmonic
LI: CJ Beauticurls; Jessicurl (JC) Gelebration Spray

I basically don't have curls without product. It's just undifferentiated frizz. Depending on what I use or how I apply it and what the weather is, I can be anywhere from kinda maybe wavy to almost 3B.

undifferentiated frizz sound like a bunch of wavy hair that hasn't clumped into a neat wave.  You need to find products/routines that encourage clumps.

You may benefit from the many youTube videos that show product application and technique that encourage clumps.

Undifferentiated frizz - I love it!  (Not the frizz, the description.)   It's exactly how my hair is before I've tortured it into looking like something else - more like differentiated frizz.
    2/c Coarse hair med. density.
    Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
