A RANT: hairdresser

Disclaimer: This happened today, and I might be too angry, so be prepared haha
Well, I recently moved to a new town, and finding a hairdresser was hard. Nobody cut hair dry, but I really needed to cut it because I needed to get layers so my hair could become even curlier (my haircut was completely straight, not even one layer, so yeah). So I decided to go to a really fancy hair salon and asked the lady to only wash my hair with water (ain't nobody needing your sulfate/silicone filled products) and she actually agreed to, but JUST HAD TO ASK ME WHY. So I explained it was because of some ingredients and she started saying that it's not the products I use that will make a difference in my texture because it's curlier by nature. Well it actually does and it makes a difference in whether it looks ugly or pretty, so I'll just stick with my great products, thanks.
She then cut my hair in layers, still saying the products DO NOT make a difference. And then she started saying my hair looks dead and it's not shiny. I mean is she blind? Everybody says my hair is pretty healthy and shiny and then she says the opposite and that the fault is in the products I use. Woman, just sit down with your chemically colored, dead, not shiny at all straight hair.
Well, at least she cut my hair perfectly, it looks gorgeous! But next time I'll just go to another salon, I don't need straight haired people telling me how to handle my wavy/curly hair.

if you have to, tell her you have allergies so it's best if you wash it yourself when you get home.
honestly, i hate the way diffusers (even iconic ones) and heat lamps make my hair look, no body to it. so it's been several years since i've had my hair washed at a salon. in fact, depending on my schedule, i often times just dampen my hands and run some conditioner in to refresh it, then wash next day.

I just started my transition two weeks ago and it already looks so good!!
In the pics I still have a little bit of the gel cast though, so it doesn't have a lot of volume.
