Low Porosity? High Porosity? I am just POORsityLY confused.

I started my hair journey in January 2017. Just off the bat, I knew (or at least thought I knew) that I had low porosity hair. Fast forward to now, and I just took off my crochet braids. As a way to detangling, I put water on my hair. Immediately, the water disappeared into my hair. I did not see any water beads, but I could feel the wetness of the water in my hair.

What is going on? Do I have low porosity or do I have high porosity? Maybe, I have normal porosity hair.
I just bought the Q-Redew Handheld Steamer, because I believed that I had low porosity hair.

Yeah, my thought too. How is your hair for that "texture" test? How does your hair respond to protein?

You may have multiple porosities.  It is possible 1 section is high and another low.  Fresh growth is more likely to be low/normal and older hair may be high.

Probably the best time to examine your hair is after it has been clarified, so that oils and butters on your hair do not affect the outcome
