Sad :(  I think, though, that he will still be singing.  He just won't be touring.

That is so sad to hear.  Wish we could find a cure.
    From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."

Very sad, it's such an insidious disease. He was due to tour here fairly soon too, must've been an unexpected diagnosis for him.

So sad. He has brought joy to so many.
I saw where he had to cancel the rest of his 50th anniversary tour.

he won't be able to keep singing for much longer - Linda Ronstadt had to stop singing due to Parkinson's.

    This makes me very sad.
--I'm located in Western PA.   --I found NC in late 2004, CG since February 2005, joined the forums in May 2005, started going grey in late 2005.   --My hair is 3B with some 3A, currently at mid back length when dry,  texture-medium/fine, porosity-top is low, middle is medium, ends are porous, elasticity-normal.   --My long time favorite products are Suave & VO5 conditioners, LA Looks Sport Gel, coconut oil, honey, vinegar.

My dad used to play his records all the time. I grew up listening to his music.

I read that his fans are using their refunded ticket money to help find a cure.

me, too! i have long been a fan of Neil Diamond, but Linda Ronstadt... oh my... i have ALL her albums, still on vinyl for most of them! when i did theatre class 40-something years ago, we were all required to do a lip-sync and i chose her. i was the only person in the class to get an A+ on that assignment.

have i ever told y'all my Neil Diamond story? probably not...

so, i had been job hunting for some time in the early 90s and finally got my first government job in Toronto. i was starting in September 1992 at the same time that Neil Diamond was coming to do a series of concerts in Ottawa, Toronto and Hamilton.

and the president of the temp agency that i had been with FOREVER called me herself and said they had a VERY elite job for a 10-day period and they wanted their top person on it. she asks me what i know about Toronto's Jewish community.

now i used to work for a branch of the Canadian Council of Churches, so i was familiar with protocols for more than a few religions and their dietary restrictions from planning some work events and i said so.

she then offered me a job as personal assistant to Neil Diamond and his family for double my usual rate, plus time and a half for the 2 weekends.

and it was the week i started my new job.

     :'(

Linda asked me if i'd call them and see if they could wait a week.

considering how awful that job experience turned out to be, i wish i had.

True, but no worries!  Like when Jackson Browne did a double take at me (back when we were both young and cute).... the story would have been better if he'd asked me out instead of just rushing off to do his show. LOL.
