Exactly one year ago I started my curly hair journey.  I cut off a lot of hair the past year. But now Im having Some trouble with the length... my left side is more curly So iT Looks shorter than the right. Does Anyone have tips because I'm Not sure What to do? Maybe a different technique? Anyway here are my Before and After pictures from the past year untill now. Im verry pleased with how far I've come, still have a long way to go But way better than Before

Welcome to NC!  Your hair is looking great!  To fix your issue, you should consider getting a Deva cut, or at least someone who specializes in curly hair cuts and will cut your hair dry.  The standard cut on wet hair and combing it out straight doesn't take into account how your curls spring up.  A good curly cut will be done dry, and without the combing, so the stylist can see how it looks when dry and curly.

Hi @Dawnmilada1996 : I have to admit I didn't respond to your question originally because I didn't see the problem you are reporting. However, if you think you need to work on it, I suggest checking some of these refresh techniques in the thread below. Real Life+Curly Girl has several styling and refresh videos where she talks about a flat spot on the side that has to deal with differently than the rest of her hair.

You may not do better seeing a Deva stylist since your current hair dresser cuts your hair dry, so don't feel too bad about that. My hair dresser cuts dry also even though she isn't a Deva curl stylist, but she is the best hair dresser I have ever had.

I love your hair @Dawnmilada1996!  Great improved in a year. As for the curlier bits, I might add a little more gel and weigh it down with a claw clip while it drying to lengthen it?

Thanks for the tip! My stylist does cut my hair dry But she doesn't do a curly cut. Unfortunatly I live in the Netherlands So I wont be able to get a deva cut. But I will definiatly get a curl cut next time 😁
