Hey I'm not new to scrolling through Naturallycurly.com, but I am new to participating in the forum. I am a type 3a/2c curly but am transitioning for real this time. I keep wanting to dye my hair back to fun colors but I have to go all naturale' for an upcoming management job so might as well transition too. I don't actually know what my real undamaged hair type is because my parent's never knew how to take care of it so I never learned. There was a time I had eight inches of split ends in my teens and that made me realize I needed a change. But there was nothing for curly hair during that time really so I just started dying my hair for a decade because if the texture wasn't ideal I could at least get a color I wanted. But now that I've turned 30 I want to get to what it really should look like. 
I work on an aircraft ramp loading and unloading airplanes at night as a job so I get hit with wind and exhaust all night. If anyone has any ideas on how to protect fine, high/medium porosity hair from that. I did put it in a high bun for a while but my scalp has gotten rather sensitive to manipulation. Although there is a unique kind of crazy hair when blown by jet exhaust.....it's like big sexy hair gone wrong. lol

Welcome!  I was surprised by my hair color when I finally decided to quit dying it.  I had been dying it for so many years I had either forgotten what the color was, or it changed during those years.  I thought it was not quite blonde, not quite brown, kind of boring and dirty looking.  Turns out it's now a pretty light brown, darker than I remembered, and I now have some interesting streaks of grey in it.  Hopefully you'll like your hair too once the dye is gone!

Jet blown, it's only shiny and somewhat defined still is because of the inordinate amounts of argon oil and gel in there. Ends get pretty dry from the heat and exhaust.

Welcome, CurlyArtist! I love your green ends. There have been many moments when I have toyed with adding a couple pink streaks to my hair.

I have had the same problem, if I can't have the right texture at least I can have a fun color. I have a pretty natural color but I just get bored easily. LOL I have a ton of cowlicks so style has always varied. Good luck!
