What are you looking FORWARD to after birth?

Okay, I know it's easy to think about how crappy you feel now, and the negative things that go along w/ pregnancy and childbirth - but let's start to think about the things that we have to look forward to. I'll start:

* meeting this new little person and seeing what he/she looks like!!
* finding out if it's a boy or a girl!
* Seeing how my daughter will react to the new addition
* doing everything all over again! being able to hold him/her while I feed him, feeding him his first baby foods, watching him get all excited about everything, watching him as he sees everything for the first time
* those toothless baby smiles
* NON PREGNANT SEX!!!!!

I can't wait to dress my baby - the boys' and girls' clothes are all so cute! And I'm really curious as to what he or she looks like, and if my gender hunch was right. Looking forward to the christening, and to taking the baby to Trinidad to meet all the family for the first time, and maybe travelling for gigs. Singing to my baby and teaching them things, playing with them and so on. And down the road, watching him or her hopefully grow up into a good man or woman.

At this moment I'm just looking forward to breathing through my nose again. I am so stuffy I don't know if I can take it.

Sure I can't wait to see if it's a boy or girl, to try breastfeeding again, to see how Lucy interacts with the baby, but breathing is #1 on my list today.

Ha ha! I know how you feel! I wanted to get to know this new little person and hold her and love her, but I also really wanted to sleep on my stomach again! :D

What is this non-pregnant sex you speak of?

I personally was way more into sex when I was pregnant than after I had the baby. It took me a while to get my groove back.

I've recently been doing this and it's HEAVEN!! Except for the big sore boobies, but I can live with that.

LOL - I couldn't wait for the baby to be born the first time. By the time I was pregnant with #2 I wasn't a fool - I knew it was way easier to take care of the baby in utero than out so I took my sweet time enjoying it.

What I looked forward to was not peeing every 10 minutes at night.

It will just be nice to have sex without having a third person in between us, so to speak. I feel so limited movement, and position - I want to have sex like a normal person.

Being able to fit in my regular clothes (hopefully)
Feeling sexy (although I bet I will feel better when my husband gets back b/c he thinks preg. women are beautiful- so I'm sure he will boost my self-esteem about this)

That was me. The last thing I did before going into the OR (I had a section) was use Affrin.

I was also looking forward to going more than seven minutes between bathroom visits.

The first time for me with my son I wasn't as aware of how precious the time is when they are small babies, so I really look foward to savoring every moment I can. That is easy for me to say now, and not at 4 in the morning when the baby won't stop crying, but I'm glad I have that perspective this time around. It will be sort of bittersweet though, since we're pretty sure this will be our last. I just can't wait to hold this baby in my arms, to give her kisses, to look into her face and see myself and my husband!

Of course there are the more shallow things like being able to wear normal clothes again, getting back down to a relatively normal size for myself, being able to get up and turn over from a laying position without having to build up momentum for 3 minutes! And babywavy, I second the whole non pregnant sex thing! Sex is just so damn pitiful right now I have to laugh at myself because I'm really crying on the inside! Although now I have an alterior motive for sex, I'm hoping it will help me naturally go into labor! It has absolutely nothing to do with pleasure for me, I just tell my husband to get it while he can! He won't see any action for a while after this baby is born!

Everything. It's been 14 years since I held a sweet baby of my own!
Last weekend I was helping my daughter get ready for her senior prom and I was in awe of this beautiful smart young woman I've raised. The years passed so fast!

Back to the subject, I can't wait to see if this baby has her daddy's red hair or blue eyes (I have dark hair, eyes, olive complexion, so I have no idea what to expect!)
I dream about the way she will smell after a bath!
I can't wait to wear cute clothes again.
I want an ice cold Coors Light. Or two.
Did you do it for love? Did you do it for money? Did you do it for spite? Did you think you had to, honey?

I just could not wait to meet him
I wanted a margarita, with an extra shot of tequilla...i usually don't drink them, hell, i barely every drink them, but when i was pregnant, i ate a lot of mexican, and i was never able to have a margarita (a lot of times i would meet my friends at don pablos after they got off work for happy hour, i tried a virgin one once and it tasted like butt)
cuddling with my little man,ac tually holding him in my arms
watching him grow (although this is truly bittersweet)

I was not looking forward to:
the work it would take to lose the weight
not being able to wear maturnity clothes ( i think they are cute)
back pain coming back (i was pain free through most of my pregnancy, 1 weeks after o had him i came back full forse, he was putting just enough pressure to straighten me up)
Lake of sex drive..i am STILL trying to get it back
having to share him with others (i did not realize how hard that really is

I hated having to share her with others - I'm extremely possesive of my possesions - but I was like, hey, she's MY baby, I don't have to share her if I don't want to. And I really don't. It's pretty rare that we go out and get her a babysitter, and I don't often let her go with her grandparents w/o us for any extended period of time. And we don't do sleepovers, even at her grandparents house.

I went through spurts of losing my sex drive when she was a baby. I totally lost it when she was around 15 months old. I'm talking gone. But I've heard that's normal during that time, and it came back - obviously b/c I'm pregnant again!!
