Has anyone gotten a haircut at Devachan?

If so, what was it like? What were you aiming for with the cut? Were you happy with the results?

I haven't been, but I impulsively made an appointment a couple of hrs ago (for 2 wks from now). If I end up keeping it, I'll be sure to post my results. Has anyone been to or heard anything about Jackie?

Also, I remember one poster sharing her experience w/ Devachan a few months back. If I can find that thread, I'll bump it.

I stopped someone at the train who had grrrreat curls and a devachan bag. So of course I had to ask a few questions. I had just picked up some [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/DevaCare-One-Condition-p-467.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=devacurl-devacare-one-condition]devacare one condition[/buylink] at Rickys. She said her hair has never been healthier and she recommended Jackie. The only thing is that her hair was 3C and Im not sure how great they would be on tighter coils.
The one thing she mentioned is that the cut takes a bit over an hour. The cut curl by curl. Which is cool but at the same time I asked her how her hair looked straight, bcuz thats the 1 thing Ive heard about Devachan cuts...That there is no flexibility. And although I started only straightening my hair on SUPER special occasions. I want to have the option to wear my hair whichever way I want.

Please update w your experience. I like the products and am considering going there next for an upcoming trim.

rockin' to the tune of her own beat...

I've had Jackie cut my hair once and I liked it. I usually see Carlos though. I'm a huge fan of a Deva cut....speaking of, I should make an appointment soon for June! I go every 6 months.

I've had my hair cut by Jackie twice at Devachan. I liked how I looked each time, but have had a hard time recreating the look on my own. I'll post pictures later. But Jackie is really great.

I've made an appointment to get my haircut at Ouidad next week, just because I'd like to see if I can get a different look. I've been relaxer free for 3 yrs, my hair is longer now, so I'd like to experiment. I hope I don't regret it.

    hey, cielobrown-

Why have you had a hard time re-creating the look? I'm wondering because if I did go to Devachan, I'd really want to get a wash-and-wear style out of them, because that's what I have time for in the morning.

    Hi busygirl26,

Well, I think I've had a hard time re-creating the look because I have ALOT of hair; therefore I don't have the time to do do what they did to me every morning. Again, their process is quite simple really, but in my case, the fact that I have so much hair is another variable. And also, even when I did go through the process on my own, I could never get it to look quite as nice as when they did it.
But this may not be the case for you. It may work out for you after all.

Susu - Thanks, I was really content with it when I had it done. My hair is alot longer now, and I'm going to Ouidad next week and see what they can do with it.

Well, your hair looks great. Good luck at Ouidad.

I do have thinner hair than you do- I'm probably going to give Devachan a try. Thanks for posting pictures.

I think you'll definitely like Devachan. Try to get an appointment with Jackie, or Carlos. I've read rave reviews about him. I've also changed my mind about going to Ouidad. I read some of the reviews on this site and honestly it put some fear in me. I've come to far and waited too long to get my hair to where it is at this point. It's definitely not perfect, but I don't want to take chances on getting messed up. I've made an appointment to go to Curlisto's tomorrow instead.
