Looking for an "heavy" conditioner

It might look like a strange request. I have 3b/3c hair (short on the front and at the neck level behind) and they are dry and tends to frizz a lot. I rarely use shampoo and style with Cantu cream and eco styler. I'm looking for a conditioner that can really moisturize and nourish my hair and avoid frizz. I hate that "barely there" result that looks like you have done only shampoo (for my type of hair only shampoo is off limits) and I'm not a fan of big volume so I like conditioners that weight down youre hair a little bit. Hope to receive some answers :)

I am a big fan of Alaffia as a company, as they are so passionate about what they do and do so much good. I think several of their products could work for you:

Alaffia has some value lines called Everyday Shea and Everyday Coconut:
    • I have used the Everyday Coconut Ultra Hydrating Conditioner in the winter and am happy with it, especially since it is a value compared to their original line conditioners
    • I found the Everyday Shea line to weight my hair down too much, so again another option that might work for you. It is available in 4 different flavors, but I would suggest getting the Unscented.

You should be able to find these at Whole Foods and other stores like that (Wegmans, etc.), which I would recommend so that you can return for a full refund if it doesn't work out.

ETA: Alaffia has a curly line called Beautiful Curls. It doesn't have a rinse-out conditioner as part of the line, but there is leave-in, a deep treatment, and some stylers that you might be able to make work for you. These are also available at stores like Whole Foods. I tried the wavy line stylers (leave-in and gel) and got great curl formation and clumping, but my hair kind of went limp. However, YMMV, and possibly for the better.
Low-poo: Alaffia Coffee & Shea Revitalizing Shampoo for Fine/Thin Hair (summer), Alaffia Coconut & Shea Hydrating Shampoo
    Clarify: Kinky Curly Come Clean
Rinse-out: Alaffia Coffee & Shea Revitalizing Conditioner for Fine/Thin Hair (summer), Alaffia Everyday Coconut Ultra Hydrating Conditioner
DT: Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioner
    Leave-in: As I Am Leave-in
Styler: Lily of the Desert 99% Aloe Vera Gelly
Treatment: Daily tea spray; Coconut oil overnight treatment; Citric acid rinse for hard water; 2-step Henndigo w/ amla to cover gray

2C, fine, low porosity, low/medium density, protein sensitive

If you can't find it on Amazon, I know some international people here on curltalk order from iherb.com (using a discount code like the one in my signature gives you 5% off, and the code owner 5% credit.)

Also, when I can, I order from luckyvitamin.com, mostly because they have better prices without needing a code (especially on Alaffia products...however they don't carry the revitalizing conditioner I like in the summer).

Both ship internationally - you could compare to see which is lower after international shipping. (It might also be cheaper than Amazon, even after shipping - in the US, there is a considerable markup on Alaffia from Amazon.)

    Anyway, good luck!

For another suggestion, I like the Generic Value Products Conditioning Balm compare to Biolage Conditioning Balm found at Sallys. It's cheap, heavy, and moisturizing. I want to try Alaffia since seeing Bomega recommend it a few times. I assume it's curly girl friendly?

Alaffia is definitely curly girl friendly. However, most of their products are made with shea butter, so if your hair doesn't like shea butter, well, there is that. I do find I have to sulfate clarify about every 6 weeks or so, but I don't find that to be a problem. As a side note, they first developed the Beautiful Curls lines for the owners' biracial daughters. They used to have a lot more information about their company on their website, but you can still read a lot about their vision and mission (as well as their products.)

In addition to the hair products I've mentioned before, I also really like:
    - Coconut Reishi Hand and Body Lotion (as a hand cream)...a little goes a long way, but leave my hands moisturized without feeling greasy.
    - Everyday Coconut Body Lotion (as a hand cream)...used this for years before the Coconut Reishi line came out
    - Baobab & Shea Lip Balm...gives me the softest lips, even in winter
    - Authentic African Black Soap (as a hand wash)...cleansing without stripping
    - African Black Soap bar soap...nice bar soap for shower

One thing to look out for with them though is I don't care for many (but not all) of their scented products. In general, if they sell a "No Scent Added" option of something I want, that is what I get.
