IN SEARCH OF MOISTURIZING AND/OR MEDIUM HOLD STYLING PRODUCTS
I wanted to try some things but still doing research on ingredients - Curl Keeper, Dippity-Do Girls has my curiosity at the moment.

Still figuring out what to use that will not kill me - ok may be I am exaggerating but I no longer want to put these crazy chemicals on my head. I am still an avid KKC gal but like anything I want to try something else. I have grown more allergic and sensitive :evil1:to fragrance so nothing Shea Moisture, Deva Curl, Mielle Organics, TreLuxe, Cantu ...the list goes on; nothing with coconut or nuts for that matter.

What works for you ? Suggestions ? Keyword - non-toxic
Hyper Sensitive to many things !!!

    Hi, CurlyVee.

Have you tried these products? It's Coconut & Nuts free for naturals.

    UPDATED:

SORRY-- FOR SOME REASON THE LINK I PROVIDED HERE DOES NOT WORK ANY MORE?? :dontknow:

KirkmansKoils is coconut free and has a custom line for those with nut/tree nut allergies.

    https://www.etsy.com/shop/KirkmansKoils

Check out their FB page as well as for more tips and ideas for DIY products that do not contain coconut or nuts. THIS LINK WORKS! Yet, I do not know if they have any recipes to make products that may have any hold? I am seeking something myself to replace Eco Styler gel. I hate crunchy and stiff hair!

If I can find any more product names and website, I will post it.

For hold I use Intelligent Nutrients Perfect Hold Hairspray. I spray it in my hair when wet like you'd use a gel, and also a bit when dry to finish. I haven't checked specifically that it's coconut and nut free, but I think it may be. The ingredients are all no natural, so no chemical fragrances.

    3A/f/i
Super baby fine hair, low porosity
Shampoos: SM Fruit Fusion (mostly), Avalon lemon (to clarify). Occasional aloe vera and glycerin to wash.
Stylers: Intelligent Nutrients Perfect Hold Hairspray
Treatments: Catnip tea, IA girl's PT, Fermented Rice Water, Catnip Tea, Amla tea, Irish Moss, SS PT

Sounds like you really should look into making homemade flax seed gel. It would be cheaper and you would know exactly what is in it. Here is a 30 page thread on nc.com about it. There are many blogs and youtube videos about it too.

Also, if you don't want to diy, Sweet Curls Elixir is an Etsy seller who is a member here on nc.com who makes flax and okra based gels, as well as other stylers and hair products that you can adapt according to your hair needs and personal preferences.

Like naturecat, I use a lot of the Intelligent Nutrients products. You'll have to check individual product ingredient labels to see whether some products are nut free.

Other brands that are quite natural are Andalou, Sevi, and Carina Organics. I don't know about fragrances in these products. I assume that if there is fragrance, it is from essential oils, which sometimes doesn't bother people who are sensitive to fragrance.
Low poo: Intelligent Nutrients (IN) Harmonic; Oribe Cleansing Creme
    RO: IN Harmonic
LI: CJ Beauticurls; Jessicurl (JC) Gelebration Spray

Stylers: JC Confident Coils; IN Volumizing Spray; IN Perfect Hold Hairspray; John Masters Sea Mist; Bumble Bb. Gel; Kenra Firm-Hold Gel; Sevi Blue Yarrow Sea Salt Spray
