switching from permanent color to demi???

Hi-
Help please! I currently color my hair with permanent hair color (paul mitchell xg). I would like to switch to demi permanent, because it is less harsh, and I really hate the root line when my hair starts to grow out. I color my hair to cover greys, so really want it to look like my natural hair color. Someday, I will probably stop coloring my hair altogether and just embrace the grey...just not quite yet :-) I am wondering, can I just start using the demi permanent color instead of the permanent one? Will the color come out the same? Can I still use olaplex when I color or should that not be used with demi permanent colors? Also, do you think this will affect my curls differently than the permanent color has?? Thanks everyone in advance for your help. I'm just nervous about doing anything that is going to wreck my hair !!!!

IDK what olaplex is, but there is no need for anything else when you use Color by Robert Craig. www.robertcraig.com It is super gentle and does not lift your original hair color (deposit only). I have used it for over 16 years now and my hair is super healthy.

Tips: 1. Choose a color about 2-3 shades lighter than you think you need, as most color tends to go dark on curls. I can help with that, if you need it. 2. Wash your hair the day before, do not use any conditioner or styler before coloring. 3. Do not do any DTs or use heavy protein products after coloring for about a week, so it really settles in. Those can be lifting.

My hair is medium brown and I use 1/2 Golden Chestnut and 1/2 Golden Blonde to cover grays and turn them into highlights. :)

LMK if you need any more help.

    A note from Robert Craig
    :
October is breast cancer awareness month. Having lost my mother to breast cancer this is a subject that has always touched me in a personal way. Please use this time to remind friends, family and even strangers to get regular exams and learn how to do a self examination. Early detection is the key.

We are offering the coupons above hoping your savings will be used as a part of breast cancer awareness month in any way you deem appropriate.

My hair color has been shown to render excellent results when used by those going through cancer treatments or right after treatments. Doctors may have discouraged coloring due to the amount of chemicals and/or chemical reactions that may take place during therapies. My color contains only 11 ingredients and the lowest amount of dyes than other products in the same category. It's superior gentle formulation does not cause the damage of typical salon or over the counter hair colors. I think this is a great benefit to those wanting an alternative product. How we look can directly effect how we feel so I think Color by Robert Craig is a wonderful choice for those wanting to color during a time of healing. Please phone 800-917-2566 if you have questions.

    I feel you.

I started growing out a bad dye job in order to get my natural colour back. I brought my hair to c-lab-12 in toronto where they specialize in colour and Raphael suggested a demi every couple of months. It does not cover my beginning grays which is great and I can basically grow out my hair with no awkward transition! Strongly recommend a demi if you are ready to shine those grays! (And i recommend those too, mine are adding great highlights!)
