Transitioning dilemma

So basically I am about 9 mths post relaxer. But the thing is is the relaxed ends of my hair is not all over my head but only in some places. The back and the middle is completely natural. I want to do the big chop but when I blowout my hair to prepare for protective styles (I always do protective styles) my hair will be different lengths and the thought of that is unsettling.
Please help, what should I do.

Baby chop! Cut it out to where it's currently even, and then as it grows, trim a little more! You don't have to cut it all at once, there is no wrong way to go natural!

Omg that happened to me as well I’m 3 years post relaxer and I also do protective styling. I would suggest not cutting all in one go as it can be a bit unsettling but by  cutting a little bit each time you get your protective styling installed, can get your hair even in no time😁
