Air Your Pet Peeves...

LotsawavesLotsawaves Posts: 8,660Registered Users Curl Neophyte
As I get older I have more pet peeves. I guess I am becoming a grouchy old woman. Here are a few of mine. I'm sure I will think of more.

1) Hikers. Just heard on the news for the upteenth time a hiker having to be rescued this morning. I hope they get charged for the rescue team.
2) It's a parking lot. Slow your arse down & watch for other cars & people walking.
3) Stop texting while driving. I was almost in a head on collision becuz some woman was doing this.
4) Stop giving me advice in my life when I don't ask for it. I'm a grown woman. You are insulting me.
From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."

Hi from another grouchy old woman:

    My pet peeves:

Stop blasting loud music in the streets. Are you deaf or do you want all of us to be deaf?

    Don't spit in public. Ugh - !!!

Auto callers (robo calls) should be drowned. I know you think I'm kidding :thumright:

And Lotsa,I totally agree. Don't give me unasked for advice. When your life is perfect, you can give me advice. Until then....
    2/c Coarse hair med. density.

I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....

So trivial, I hate people *****ing about their lives & illnesses on Fb. To me its a light, fun, keep in touch place. You're getting hidden, then deleted if all you talk about is how horrible things are.
I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.

People who can't spell and have no idea how to use punctuation should not be writing signs, notices etc.
Ditto people who don't seem to understand the correct use of certain words - affect/effect, alternate/alternative.
    Aaagh!

I'm sure I'll revisit this thread.

Guys who lead a move poorly when we're ballroom dancing and then, upon my failure to execute it, explain to me what I'm supposed to do. If you had led the move correctly, I would have followed it--exactly like I did the twelve previous times you led the move. Duh.

People who are drifting into your lane, and you honk at them to alert them, and they bully themselves into your lane anyway. (This happened to me the other day, and I'm still ticked about it.)

When I am stuck with a particular problem and ask someone for advice and they say, "Look online." As if I haven't done that already.

The older I get the more prickly I get too.
I hate the spitting most of all. I don't want to walk thru the ghost of some spit. I don't think some of them swallow at all since they spit every 12 seconds.
I notice more people try to guess what I'm going to say and try to say it for me. I don't stutter and I don't talk slow but I do think I prefer to finish my own sentences.
Texting while walking ( since driven was already mentioned). I am not going to move and I just dare you to walk into me. Do it! I need a good laugh.
I'm very grouchy so I'll limit myself to 3 and let everybody join in. Otherwise I think I could go on all day! This is fun. Can't wait to see what else comes up!

Noisy eaters. I know this is mostly my issue, just something that irritates me for no reason, but some people slurp, gulp and chew really loudly and it's gross and unnecessary.

One of the girls at work is the loudest chewer, like it makes me want to throat punch her! She makes the most obnoxious sigh everytime she takes a sip of her drink

People who pop their gum. I worked with a woman who would do this & it was so loud. I also don't like brown nosers in the work place & men who will agree with me on everything just to make us seem compatible.

When I posted I had a colleague in mind! I don't often actually work on the same ward as her any more but I have had to leave the office in the past until she finished eating.

I hate when someone posts photos of their food, with the caption "yummy", and the food looks gross. I have posted food shots of new recipes myself, so I am indeed a hypocrite. Also, people will share food videos to their timeline, probably just to bookmark it, even though this is not necessary. Lot's of times I think "how can you eat that slop?"

In the same vein, I hate that word really over all. A friend over uses it for food "Is that so yummy??" "This is so yummy!" "How yummy is this?!?" Unless you're talking to a kid, drop it.

The neighbourhood kids are singing "We have to make it beautiful" for the second day in a row and I'm about to lose it. I'm gonna put on 80s and make them learn the words shortly.

I'm thinking it's maybe from Frozen?? Not sure, it's just the same line over and over and over and over again. There may or may not have been a water hose involved 😳

    2) Liars
    3) Poorly kept feet. Well kept feet already squicks me out but ashy heels and ratchet toenails is uncalled for. :shaking:

I have hundreds of peeves. I'm easily peeved.
    Just a few:
    people who tailgate
people who don't treat their pets like family
people who think it's their job to correct everyone else (spelling, grammar, pronunciation, etc)
    know it alls
    people who brag a lot
people who are rude or who don't have manners
people who constantly whine about the weather
young people thinking older people are stupid or out of touch (and I mean every generation of young people, not just the current one)
people who spend all their time looking at their phones
anyone who tells me what I can say or post on my own facebook wall
anyone who tries to tell me what to wear, how to act, how long and what color my hair should be, to stop getting tattooed and pierced, etc etc

    Oh goodness!

    1. Spitting
    2. Smoking in public (well, more like blowing smoke on the faces of other people)
    3. Littering (keep your candy wrapper in your pocket, will ya?)

I'm sure I have a lot more but can't think of them right now. I'll make sure to update this.

Oh, litter irritates me too, and I especially hate people throwing cigarette butts out of car windows.

People who don't socialize their dogs. Makes it difficult for me in my dog sitting business. I feel dogs are happier when they are socialized.
