Question about detangling hair before Devacut appointment?

Please forgive me because I know this is a silly question, but I just scheduled an appointment for my first Devacut and I'm not exactly sure how they want me to prepare.

I read online that I should come to the appointment with dry and detangled hair. Exactly what do they mean by detangling? Do I need to brush my hair before the appointment, turning it into a poofy and triangle-y but tangle-free mess? Or is it okay to detangle in the shower the night beforehand and let it air dry into somewhat tangled curls and waves?

Thanks for your help!

i always go with the way i normally style my hair.

do NOT brush your hair, ever! LOL! it would break up the curl formation that they need to see. also, don't tie it up or back or clip it or anything that would distort the curl formation.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(
