I posted the above thread today in a haste (missed the "Feedback" forum hiding at the very bottom):coffee: I just read through a couple of other threads ranging from a few months ago to two years ago of users echoing my same (or similar) sentiment.

Overall, I think this ordeal with NaturallyCurly sweeping site problems underneath the rug is disheartening and disappointing because I love what this site represents: loving yourself and your beautiful curly/wavy/coily/kinky/etc hair. :geek:

I love the content NC comes out with: I'm a devoted watcher and reader (when I can) of the articles/videos and also enjoy reading posts from authors and guest bloggers/vloggers. I enjoy reading CurlTalk just a little more, but no so much posting any more. And that enjoyment is quickly turning to indifference.

CurlTalk is perhaps one of the most valuable resources NC has to offer, no other site/forum I've come across really matches it - yet....

NC, I can only hope for positive change around the corner, hopefully it's not a far corner, because with the quick ever-changing world of the internet, another site or forum will become your replacement. :sad11:

i agree! however, i really believe curltalk is over. this is a shopping website now. with those ill-researched, joke articles to grab people in.
it's too bad as back in the day (no longer as not many people post anymore) was a true source of info and a draw to the site. that would lead more people to shop here.

i'm happy i got the info i did, but sad at the way it is now. when i've done a search and come up with threads from 2010, 2011, i see how many members posted and how much info there was. and for the most part, correct info. if there was an error, others would chime in with the correct info.

i no longer recommend this site to any curly.

RBB, You're so right about the "shopping website" label :-(. I mean there's definitely revenue coming in from not only CM but ads on the site, from their YT videos, and brand features but (IMO) I think very little of that is being put to improve the site and quality (rather than the meh) content. And I definitely agree re: article content - it's not very well researched and pretty underwhelming (still somehow it's my guilty pleasure lol). Gosh I wish I was a during member CurlTalk's prime, I'm going to devote more time to sifting through those posts instead. Do you have any recommendations for sites/forums at the moment? PM or reply here is fine.

It's sad to see how much this place has slowed down! I ise to not be able to keep up because the posting was so fast and furious, lol. Anyway posting from my phone is a hassle. I miss my computer. It's why I'm not around so much. But I'm surprised you posted this and not a response from Gretchen, Michelle, or somebody. The content here is only going to be as good as the forum here. The talk forum definitely needs to be revived by promotion if it is going to thrive.

afrosheenqueen -- great to see you! yes, the forums are disappearing before our eyes. the site malfunctions, making it difficult to post and difficult to read. hardly any posts anymore. i recently did a search and came up with a couple of threads from 2010 -- omg, the difference! fast and furious is exactly right. so much info and such quality info.

the articles they have now (no more tonya mckay,) are a joke, they are full of errors, misconceptions, they read like a supermarket tabloid.

i don't know if you knew, but michelle and gretchen sold to the 'big boys' a couple/few years ago. i believe this is to become strictly a shopping website, their sales are great. however, what drives people to buy is learning about products. and we heard and learned about them on the forums.

What I haven't been able to figure out for the last few years is why they would want to push away thousands of potential shopping customers from the forums! I don't get it.

Rbb, I loved Tonya McKay! I knew she was the real deal.

This is all just so disheartening. I really felt a part of a "vibrant" community - which sounds cliche but that's what it was. It was enormously helpful, informative, fun, provocative, etc. Wow, another good thing gone. Or at least, most of it is gone. There's still a few of us left, but for how long?
            2/c Coarse hair med. density.
            Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift :flower:
