Wasting my time

By day 2 my hair looks fluffy and frizzy.
It looks and feels as if I don't have any styling products in my hair whatsoever. I have waist length thick loose curls, and I live in Florida. All of those factors don't really help.
In the shower with wet hair I'll add kinky kurly leave in, curl keeper, and bio silk rock hard gele. I scrunch a ton, add more product as needed, then I plop overnight. I wake up with my hair still damp and I'll let it air dry.
by the end of the day, mg hair is frizzy and fluffy with no hold. Adding water will help to refresh... But that doesn't last long.
Should I add or change a product? Plop less? Use more product?
I haven't diffused because the process is so messy with my wet and heavy/long hair all over the place. Is it really worth it?
It's hard to photograph my hair type because of how dark it is.
Please help. I just want a full day with defined curls! Lol. I feel like I may as well stop wasting my time trying to style and stick with water and conditioner only.

1. These products aren't great for you. Try LA Looks Sports Gel, it's cheap, and it beat D.C.'s humid summer for me. You could also try dealing with oil, coconut, jojoba, sweet almond, argan are all popular choices. Or, go to curlmart (this site's store) and read the reviews. See what people with hair like yours like.
2. Technique matters. Try applying to soaking wet hair, dryer hair, try rake and shake and praying hands. Try applying more product. I apply a ton of product. It scared me to use that much at first, but it worked.
3. Moisturize. More than you think you need to. Again, I thought my hair was fine, I was moisturizing 10x more than before, but even more moisture worked.
