Henna on Black/Dark haired type 3 curlies... What was your experience/Result?

So, I'm thinking about henna-ing (is that even a word? Lol) my hair and I'd love to hear from people who have already done it. What was your experience? How did your hair look before and after? I know hennaed hair is as unique as the hair its self, but I'd like to get a general idea of how henna works on dark curly hair.

Henna was both good and bad. My hair looked so full and healthy. I did multiple coats, but not of pure henna (it was a henna/amla mix). It was when applying multiple whole head applications that I ran into some problems. My hair took days to dry and often looked greasy if I tried to apply any product to it. It was also more 2a instead of 3a, but that could also be because I didn't style it the way I do now. I don't have black hair, but my hair is dark medium brown. In terms of color when henna-ing my hair had a subtle warm red highlight, but in the sun it turned really red (though, in fairness, when a child I had natural red/blonde highlights in the sun--can't say the henna did that to me, but it sure brought it out). Here are some pics of my hair with and without henna. The first 4 are with henna. The 5th is my virgin hair without henna, after I big chopped all the henna off. I can't post pre-henna, as I only started CG after henna-ing my hair, so wouldn't be a good comparison.

    3A/f/i
Super baby fine hair, low porosity
Shampoos: SM Fruit Fusion (mostly), Avalon lemon (to clarify). Occasional aloe vera and glycerin to wash.
Stylers: Intelligent Nutrients Perfect Hold Hairspray
Treatments: Catnip tea, IA girl's PT, Fermented Rice Water, Catnip Tea, Amla tea, Irish Moss, SS PT

This gives me things to consider before I henna my hair... Thanks! This is really quite helpful. :)
