Low Density or Hair Loss? Hair Type and Grey Curlies

Hi everyone,

I haven't visited this site in years. I am currently trying to let my hair grow but am ambivalent because I feel my hair isn't what it once was, volume-wise. Would like some opinions on my hair density. Is this medium or low density? And is this a normal amount of hair for a 40 year old? I just don't want to let it grow if it's going to be terribly sparse and since I have not seen it long in decades, I would appreciate feedback.

Also, what is my hair type? I think I am a 3c but am not totally sure.

Any grey curlies out there? Would love to see your curls.

Thanks much!!

I would love to have hair that dense! I don't know what is normal for you, but I don't see any obvious thinning or bald areas.

Really?? You can see the scalp when you look right on top, especially in the middle. But maybe that is normal for me. The last time I saw my hair long was more than two decades ago, and I had normal (medium) density but I never paid any attention to it while it was growing.

I also have two thyroid nodules now so not sure if that has any effect on my fears.

In any case, I appreciate you taking a look and giving me an answer. Makes me feel better. :-)
