My shoulder length hair is too heavy to wear up....

Hi girls, I'm wondering, my hair is just past my shoulders, dense, 2b/2c, course, low porosity hair. However a high bun, or even half pony tail pulls at my scalp, in a not good way...

I'm not really interested in "thinning" my hair, and I am growing it. But i'm concerned because I want to grow it long, that it will weigh so much!

Does anyone have this problem? Also my hair is still quite short so I can do a french braid but it does like to fall out. Arg! I don't know what to do...

Maybe the long hair forums? Those ladies have several feet of hair they usually wear up, they probably know how to do a bun without putting pressure on your scalp.

Hi! I would, but when I went on I could not for the life of me figure it out... They have all these bizarre rules about accessing the forums it seems, something to do with a certain amount of replies to others, but still very confusing and I'm not totally handicapped on the computer, so I was surprised I couldn't figure it out...

You might have to register. They tend to get fetishists bothering them, so the security is pretty tight.

Try the long hair loom. You don't have to register and they have lots of info for distributing the weight in a bun. I wonder though if you are pulling your bun too tight. Just a thought. Good luck and happy growing.

    Thanks I will!

It's funny even in a super loose bun it pulls, but perhaps I'm doing it all wrong. This is the reason I can't sleep with it on top of my head at night, as it's too short to braid it so i sleep with it out and I get loads of frizz and tangles!
