Andre Walker's Hair Type System

in Hair Type 3
I have no idea why the pics are sideways. π
So, I found his book for a penny. Yes...a penny. I bought it out of curiosity and for giggles because NO ONE on the internet agrees about anything regarding hair typing it seems, and I wanted to see what he originally said. LoL

Sooo....wait. He said 3B is Nicole Kidman to Cree Summer?

Does that make ME 3B according to him???

At the beginning I was claiming 4A. Then this forum told me 3C. And now Andre said 3B? LoL Long story short, I have NO clue what I am with certainty, but it's been amusing all the same. I'll just stick to 3C. It's in the middle, so why not.
And I finally found a celebrity hair twin! Nathalie Emmanuel. Irrelevant info but satisfying.

And not that it matters, just for fun, do the excerpts above throw off anyone else's current hair claim? I'm gonna start saying, I'm on the "right side of the spectrum". That I know is accurate. LoL

Under the original system, according to that picture (which I LOVE!), you'd be a 3B. Under the expanded system, you'd be a 3C. Assuming, of course, that picture doesn't reflect some sort of loosening of your curls via styling or chemicals. (No judgement, everyone deserves to decide their own hairstyle.)
3a, fine, thin, normal porosity, no dye, greying naturally

Curl Junkie Spiral Lotion in low humidity
Ouidad Advanced Heat & Humidity Gel mixed with UDG for high humidity

As the previous poster said, Naturally Curly added categories to Andre's system. Also, both Andre and NC's system don't take into effect hair properties, such as texture and porosity or assume everyone with the same pattern has the same texture.

Thank you! And yeah, you see so many people asking and discussing it, you start questioning or doubting your own sometimes.
Thank you! That explains why some people see 3b and others say 3c or 4a. I've always gone by this forum, and never took into consideration the differences in opinion being based on which version of the system they were using. Makes MUCH more sense in hindsight.
And yeah, that's my regular ol' curl pattern. I only do wash and go's. I tried the manipulation thing like bantu knots or twistouts, but I always find I like my original pattern better. I'm sure it's mostly in part to my complete lack of styling skill. LoL I never figured out a curling or flat iron, so I don't know why I thought I could braid hair.
I've never been able to understand when people saw my hair as 3B, but I do now. I understood 3c to be pencil sized curls. And mine are. But! The bottom perimeter of my hair stays pencil sized and the top half does whatever it wants. Some days it's pencil sized, some days it's sharpie or bigger. It's weird because I'm not manipulating it. That part is still a mystery to me. Maybe it's the weather. Idk.
I'm anxious to get more length. I want to know how gravity effects my curls, if at all. I can't even imagine what the outcome may be if it does. But I welcome the journey. And I'm definitely multi-textured. That much I've figured out. Dentangling days are the biggest giveaway. I haven't yet figured out porosity though. I want to say normal or low, but I'm not sure.
