what do you use as a daily conditioner?

In other words, not a deep conditioner or a protein treatment, but what do you use on a regular basis?

Sally's GVP Conditioning Balm. So far, it's the only RO that seems to get into my hair and moisturize well.

I have that, but its not my fave, although I know it is huge one here. I have diluted it and that works better - but I think I need a lighter conditioner.

I use V05 conditioners as my daily conditioner but it's such a commonly used product I'm assuming you've used it before.

I actually just started investigating VO5, Curlista (duh, what took me so long?) . I have several - not the Strawberries and Cream, I have the Pomegranate one, the Kiwi lime and the extra body. Do you find you need a conditioner with protein?
  • Curlista93Curlista93 Posts: 411Registered Users Curl Novice
I don't feel I need a conditioner with protein in it. Protein in large doses make my hair crunchy, small doses are okay. As far as V05 conditioners go, all of their conditioners work pretty much the same on my hair. To me they're the same conditioner with different (lovely) smells lol. But I haven't tried the kiwi or the extra body conditioner.

I'm playing around with conditioners right now. I bought the Shea Moisture Weightless and it is okay.

The hairdresser used the new Deva Delight on my hair and I had very lovely soft hair after, but I haven't purchased any myself yet. I want to.

I have the SN 10 in 1 superfruit. I like it a lot, actually but I think I need a lighter conditioner at times.

How can you tell? What makes a difference between heavier and lighter?

Heavier conditioners are thicker, creamier, harder to rinse out.

Is there a difference in the way each (thick vs. thin) affects your hair?

Heavier conditioners sometimes weigh my hair down, as do heavy products...

What I did once was to use only leave-in and no rinse-out. So I washed my hair as usual, then just used a lot of leave-in. I had a really great hair day. But I haven't done it since. Maybe something to try?

I have never had great luck with leave ins of any kind. I DKY. I n stead, I use Shea Moisture's Shine and Hold spray - and not much of that, either.

Myrna, my hair is high porosity, but I'm not sure that matters for a daily conditioner ?? Anyway, I really like Jessicurl's Aloeba daily conditioner. One reason I like it is that in high dew point (humid) conditions I want to avoid humectants like glycerin and this is glycerin free.

The advertising on it says it is good for fine hair because it is very light but moisturizing. Although my hair isn't fine I wanted a daily conditioner that was lighter than the rich conditioners that I use for deep conditioning. It is fragrance free. It got really good reviews both at nc.com and in other places on the web.

    I will definitely repurchase this.

Suave Coconut is still my favorite conditioner after years and years.
My 2nd favorite is VO5 Kiwi Lime. Both work well for detangling and my hair (and wallet) love them.

I use Intelligent Nutrients Harmonizing shampoo and conditioner every wash day. It is the only shampoo/conditioner combo I have found that I can rely on. It gives me moisture (but not too much, or my hair gets limp) without greasiness.

I use CJ Beauticurls leave-in in the winter months. No leave-in in the warmer months.

I have to rotate stylers every time I do my hair, because it seems that I get build-up at the drop of a hat.

I'm still liking Alaffia shampoo and conditioners. I think I am going to go back to the Alaffia Everyday Coconut Ultra-Hydrating Conditioner for the winter though. It is much cheaper and I get good results with it. I do like the hydrating effects of the original line Alaffia Daily Hydrating Conditioner in the winter, but with the glycerin there is the trade-off of hydration v. frizz, and it costs me twice as much.

I have been 100% satisfied with the Alaffia Revitalizing Shampoo/Conditioner in the summer.
Low-poo: Alaffia Coffee & Shea Revitalizing Shampoo for Fine/Thin Hair (summer), Alaffia Coconut & Shea Hydrating Shampoo
    Clarify: Kinky Curly Come Clean
Rinse-out: Alaffia Coffee & Shea Revitalizing Conditioner for Fine/Thin Hair (summer), Alaffia Everyday Coconut Ultra Hydrating Conditioner
DT: Camille Rose Naturals Algae Renew Deep Conditioner
    Leave-in: As I Am Leave-in
Styler: Lily of the Desert 99% Aloe Vera Gelly
Treatment: Daily tea spray; Coconut oil overnight treatment; Citric acid rinse for hard water; 2-step Henndigo w/ amla to cover gray

2C, fine, low porosity, low/medium density, protein sensitive

No, I haven't used shampoo in 12 years, except as an occasional experiment with new products, and I always dislike the feel of shampoo on those occasions.
