Hey forum I'm new I was having an issue, my hair style is currently natural I work in an restaurant and I find when I get off my hair smells like cooking oil. I was wondering how can I clean my hair daily to rid it of the smell I know that washing everyday can be bad so I was looking for some help.
I'm an 4a/4b type any suggestions would be appreciated thank you

Tough situation. The only thing I can think of would be to get some scented dry shampoo and sprinkle it on your hands and then rub it on your scalp. Whatever residue is left you could scrunch into the rest of your hair. You'd have to be really careful if your hair is dark, because the dry shampoos are all white in color. Also, you'd have to be careful not to break up your clumps too much.

I use dry shampoo this way as a refresher when I just don't have time to wash my hair and I'm like on third-day hair. I put it on my scalp as noted and then lightly work it into the parts of my hair that are greasy. I then lightly mist my hair with some water and scrunch to revive the curl. I would probably lightly spray some other product into my hair to cover any remaining smell.

Ok thanks a lot Therese. I'll see if my local hair supply store has some, any particular brands that are good or that you recommend or pretty any of them?

It's not a long term solution, but I used to sleep with a dryer sheet in my bonnet after a night at the club. It helped the smoke scent a little.

I've just been using the Aveda Shampure because my hair stylist recommended it. It has no silicones. It's kind of pricey, though. It has a nice scent. You might want to go to a beauty store and see what all they have. I am limited because I have a lot of chemical sensitivities, so I try to use brands that are more natural.
