4th day hair

Here is my 4th day hair.
Looks a bit frizzy, not as wavy as it does on a wash day, but at least it doesn't look dirty!
I spritzed it , and added a bit more curl (boots ) cream, and them sealed with confixor gel. I let it air dry then SOTC.

Is there any way I can get it to look less straggly, more wavy/curly and so my DH won't keep asking me to "brush your hair for once!!"
TIA

I wish my 2nd day looked this great! No suggestions, except to just keep doing what you do!
2c, coarse, low elasticity, medium/high density; varied porosity, protein- and coconut-sensitive
CJ Daily Fix and Smoothing Conditioner; then Beauticurls and Pattern Pusha
For a deeper clean once a week, Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle shampoo and conditioner

Thank you soo much for saying that! It has taken me ages to get to this stage, loads of trials and errors and many repeated washings. Oh and most definitely too much £££ spent ( usually in the middle of the night on amazon:):):
But mainly I think from reading things on here!

BTW what type am I , I think probably 2 c maybe 3a ? It has changed from when I started this journey .
    TIA

Yes I do. I really like it, you don't need a lot either and when I get the scrunching right (!!) it has great hold. my hair seems to need a lot of hold.
Actually I think I found out about it from one of your posts!!
So thank you, if you hadn't mentioned it I would never have known of it
    its very good:thumbright:

Sorry your husband says things like that. So not cool. :( Your 4th day hair looks really nice. For frizz issues on 2+ day hair, I use Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic. For more volume I use mousse (foam actually--the one in my signature). That's the only thing I really know about 2+ day hair, as that's basically all I use (sometimes all natural hairspray if I want more hold). I do diffuse for more volume and curl as opposed to air drying. You can use cold air if heat is a concern.
If you'd like to know your curl type it would be good to post a pic of your 1st day hair.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your hair. It looks amazing! Sometimes guys don't understand what natural hair looks like. When I wore a messier style as a recent college grad, I was always asked if I was going to comb my hair before church. And that was after I had just blow-dryed my hair.

For frizz on second-day hair, I wet my canopy a bit and then add a little bit of a light leave-in. I find that my hair frizzes because it is a little dried out, so adding some leave-in helps that. I also get less frizz if I spritz my hair with a little water before bed and put my hair up in a pineapple so that the hair absorbs the moisture overnight.

Just for fun, if your DH suggests again that you should brush your hair, go ahead and do it, and see what his response is when he sees the result. I bet he won't suggest it again. :)

oh thats funny, I should try that!!

But, I will take a pic of my hair on wash day ( probably tomorrow, Ive put loads of conditioner on it just now so it looks like a greasy ball at the moment, just as well its a stay at home day, watching the F1grand prix!!!)

And I will do the suggestions for the canopy too for the frizz reduction,

I do also home dye my hair ( using Esalon , i love their service!)
so I think thats made it dry at the ends too.
My gosh I think I am becoming obsessed, also with loads of beautiful curl hair envy!!!!
Seriously though, all of you here have been a huge help ,support and learning for me thank you!

I would reply to DH, "ok" then actually brush out your hair, dry, with a paddle brush. #shockhimwithstyle
Then, maybe he will appreciate your totally kick-ass, gorgeous clumps and curls!
aggressively wavy | baby-fine | low density | high porosity

starting from scratch on products, Living Proof "Timeless" was a disaster (crispy dry after 6 mos)

I have a question. Before you started this curl journey, did you straighten your hair a lot? Is that how your husband got used to seeing you? If so, it could be he hasn't adjusted yet. Maybe he thinks, for instance, that if you brushed your hair out that would somehow make it straight again? (Though we know this isn't the case.) :) I guess what I'm saying here is that the problem is actually more in your husband's head and less in yours. You know people here will be honest with you and help you out as far as styling goes, so just keep going and he'll likely get used to the way natural waves and curls actually are eventually. Maybe pointing out some other natural hair on others that you like might help him as well, it takes some time to start looking at natural hair on the people you know while getting the idea of hair straightened or curled with heat out of your head.
