Stringlets, silver lining in the cloud

I did my usual routine and added extra regular conditioner as a leave in, lots of gel, some Curl Junkie CIAB for shine and tons of scrunching. My hair came out in super shiny stringlets. Not terrible, but definitely stringlets. The shine was fabulous, though.

Went out that night and a friend who saw me emailed later that he loved my hair. Hmmmm!

Awoke next day assuming it would be a royal mess but no....the stringlets had blossomed into soft, messy curls, still quite shiny. It looked pretty! So, moral of the story, one way to get good 2nd day hair is to have stringlets the first day! Interesting.... Anyone else have this experience?
2/c Coarse hair med. density.
Highly porous. Color over grey.
I love all the Curl Junkie products. Still experimenting with gels and curl creams. Still hoping for 2nd day hair....
Every day is a gift :flower:

if i overdo the products i get string lets, BUT, i then run my fingers thru my hair several times to break them up and then i end up with soft curls. so for me, the stringlets are temporary.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(
