Crown area breakage

I've been natural for 4 years , but just now i'm really wearing my hair out

Basically i used protective style most of the time.

The reason for that is, my crown area.

Every time i put braids, i miss my hair. Then when i do my twistouts and my crown area is always undefined and frizzy.

Then i feel discouraged and put my braids back again.

The rest of my hair it's ok.. it's really frizzy also but defined when i do my twistouts

Also my crown area is really brittle and dry, highly prone to fairy knots and some breakage ( not much tho)

I mean i love my hair, and i'm determined to wear my twistouts this spirng and summer ( not in the winter tho, I live in Sintra , Portugal, and it's crazy here)

Pleas help me glow up ;)

My hair is really long, and it's a shame not being able to enjoy it.

Details:

Mixture of 4a/4b hair ( the crown it's a frizzy 4b)

High porosity ( no dye or chemicals, my hair is naturally like that, despite what the blogs say)

medium density

Some scalp issues ( psoriasis)

Hair really prone to tangles

Protein sensitive ( not to all proteins )

Rarely deep condition for this 4 years ( i know , i know)

Products ( i recently started using this, i enjoy most of them especially the masque. I'm unsure about the restorative conditioner)

Shampoo Shea moisture african black soap or herbal essences hello hydration

Conditioner Shea moisture 10 in 1 renewal

Deep conditioner Shea moisture 10 in 1 renewal

Leave in ( i alternate between ) : Cantu for naturals leave in conditioner, Shea moisture raw shea butter conditioner, Shea moisture 10 in 1 renewal conditioner

Cream and stylers: Cantu Coconut curling cream, Cantu twist and lock gel

Sealants: Shea butter, almond oil and olive oil

Brands i'm able to get in my country, just in case you want to suggest any

Shea moisture ( african black soap, raw shea butter, the light green bottle one, coconut and hibiscus, jbco and 10 in one renewal)

Cantu shea butter

Creme of nature

Aunt jackies

Miss jessies and some others but for white people hair ( just sayin)

Please any suggestion is welcomed

Sorry for my English, i'm Portuguese

Beijos

xx

Are your scalp issues worse in your crown area?

If it doesn't irritate your scalp I suggest you start deep conditioning once a week, either with a penetrating oil like Olive oil or coconut oil or another deep conditioner containing protein. I would also clarify your hair as the products you use can build up.

You could try using something heavier (like shea butter or some other heavy butter) to seal when you do your twists and use more than you usually would for that area. Some oil usually softens up my crown area too.

Actually no, my crown area is the least affected by psoriasis

Then use olive oil or another penetrating oil like almond oil, castor oil or avocado oil. Almond oil and avocado oil are lighter than olive oil while castor oil is heavier, so you would need to leave them on longer.

The very top of my head is like that. I'm not sure what causes it, but it gets very fluffy and undefined. A henna treatment helps and if I don't want to deal with the time commitment for that, Olaplex No. 3 works just as well and is easier to put it just where I need it.

i been doing some reasearch and i think imma try the henna, it seems to loosen the curl and help with breakage
i just need to find some reliable henna in this goddamn country

If you are in a European you can order from Amazon or eBay from elsewhere in Europe and get it delivered.

If you are elsewhere in the world I don't know where you can order from to avoid extra duties.
