ACK! Hair dryer emergency help needed!

Oh no! I am having a hair dryer crisis!

I have been using the same hair dryer for over 7 years now and it sadly went belly up while on vacation. Little did I know hair dryer technology had changed so much in the last decade, so I scoured the Curly Talk boards for hair dryer suggestions. I ordered a number of the more popular brands (FHI, Conair, Babybliss) from $20 to $150 and tried them all out, and what a disaster! This new ion thing-a-ma-jig is HORRIBLE for my hair! Every single dryer made my hair limp and lifeless with horrible fly aways. Is it less frizzy, sure? But I liked my frizz and volume! I want BIG curly hair! The fly aways are driving me insane.

Anyone have any suggestions of non-ion hair dryers? Do I need to go to the Goodwill for a "vintage" hair dryer? Help!

Yikes! What a time for a hair dryer to die...

I have the Revlon 1875W, and it has a switch to turn the ion thing off. I got it at either Walmart or Target; it didn't cost too much.

    Good luck!

ETA: It comes with a diffuser too. :)
