Is Certified Organic Alcohol Safe for Hair?

BeautyOGBeautyOG Registered Users Posts: 383 Curl Neophyte
I have just bought a bottle of Stinging Nettle (tincture) to add to my conditioner. I bought it in a rush without truly reading the label; later I realized it had 'certified organic alcohol' in it. Is it bad for your hair? Please answer ASAP.

Well generally the reason some people avoid certain alcohols in their products is because they dry the hair out. I think that it would be drying no matter if it's organic or not. But you could always just test it out and see! Hth

OK so I've been looking around online and I found this article: http:// http://www.zaega.com/beauty-myth-alcohol-dries-out-and-damages-your-hair-and-your-skin.html
What do you all think? Is this article telling the truth?

I believe I will do as @ginabean98 suggested and test it out first.

I use tinctures with alcohol (you can find them in glycerin, too) in my hair. But it's usually a very small amount compared to the other ingredients it's mixed with and I don't use it very often. So I don't think it's drying, overall, and I certainly haven't noticed any drying effects.

Here's another article that talks about the alcohol in one of the products in my rotation:

styling: hair rules curly whip, camille rose curl maker
sealants: oil rinse with Africa's Best Herbal Oil, Soultanicals Knot Dressing, bekura palm tapioca or jane carter nourish & shine
