Dying hair silver/lilac

Hi everyone,
Just wanted some advice and to know if anyone else has dyed their hair a silver/lilac colour and how their experience of it was and what products they used?
The hairdresser I saw advised conditioning treatments prior to my hair being bleached, I just use a small amount of shea moisture atm as a leave in.
I said I did cowash and she said that for silver hair she would recommend a shampoo and conditioner specifically for grey hair, though she did say it contained no sulphates.
I've seen mixed messages re: use of coconut oil for dyed hair some saying it strips colour and others saying it helps so unsure there.
