I just bought some Spiral Solutions products, since it's basically my last chance to try them. I used the protein treatment, Ali Kat spray, and firm hold gel. I plopped for about an hour and then diffused. And this is the result. What a waste of a wash day. I know the picture doesn't look like much, but it looks INSANE in person. It's super lopsided and has zero curl definition. My brother walked in and took one look at me and said "that doesn't look good." Did I do something wrong?

What are your dew points like? I love the hard hold gel, but I can't use it in high dew points or I have a floppy fluff on my head - in moderate dew points it works wonders. I can't speak for the other products, though.

I have no idea. I live in Virginia, so the weather etc. has ZERO consistency

maybe it was too much? try using them individually, her products are very rich.

Like rbb said, maybe it was too much. That happens to me when I use too much of her products. They are very rich and the firm hold gel will look like that for me when I over do it.
3A, fine, low porosity. Hair tends to be dry/frizzy

I agree with the others. While I tend to "pile on" a lot of products into my hair, I usually test each thing out one at a time to see how it works for me. You may want to do that. One product at a time; see how it works. :)

I'm definitely a "curly" 2c. Sometimes curly and sometimes just wavy upper layer with a ringlety under layer. My hair has been thick and coarse since birth. Strawberry blonde in color that can and does change depending on the type and amount of light.

All in all, I'm happy with my hair type but almost for sure think yours is prettier. :)

Thanks, ladies. I will try just using the gel next time, see if that works. I still haven't found ANYTHING that really works for me; not a wash, not a conditioner, not a styling product. It's a very frustrating journey.

The FHG for me weighed down my hair when I tried it (awhile ago), but I have a feeling I just need to learn how to use it. Every gel weighs down my hair except my homemade gelatin gel. I love the PT both as a treatment and leave in (my hair needs lots of protein). Never used the ali kat.

I actually think your hair looks really pretty in your picture. Wish mine would come out like that :-)
