Help dry frizzy coarse hair

Lately my hair is extra dry and frizzy. I only wash once a week and I just spray a mix of water and conditioner in between to refresh. I always find that a heavy sticky gel works best for my curls as it helps to weigh it down and de frizz but lately nothing's working day one is good but then it's just downhill afterwards. I've tried oils and it just makes it worse. I've also tried leave ins and also find that my hair is just too puffy soft. Any suggestions ? Thanks

You may need to deep condition or do a protein treatment. If you are protein sensitive you can use coconut milk and honey.
( 1/3 to 1/2 can of coconut milk and 1 to 2 spoons of honey. leave on for no more than 40 mins)
    hope this helps!

I would reccomend clarifying too. I have this issue from time to time and had it just recently. I had to actually trim my ends because I was long overdo for a cut so I had my mom chop off about half an inch. That really helped me because my ends get really rough/dry/crispy. My hair is also naturally quite coarse so I have to remind myself that my hair doesn't really feel like those with finer texture. It could also be a glycerin thing? Idk, I actually enjoy frizz to an extent but as I'm growing out my layers, it's also a new battle because like you, I'm also used to only washing my hair once a week.

Whenever i get dry and frizzy clarifying really helps. Its like things build up and prevent moisture from getting in. I always do a really good conditioning treatment after clarifying.

It really works for me.. nice curls. I just use rusk moist treatment and girls with curls defining cream (it's been a hair saver... found at walmart or target). Before this product i was always straightening my hair and it was getting so damaged. I hope it works for you too!:lurk:

Gel and mousse never worked for me. Neither did coconut oil.
