What's your favorite conditioner and why?

I need conditioner recs. I can't seem to find the perfect one. One with moisturizing properties and great slip that I can use consistently that is. I really like Deva One Condition but I can't use it regularly because eventually it makes my hair stiff and dry. I think because of the protein. Once a week or every other wash it's fine. But then I've tried a bunch of other silicone free conditioners and I can't seem to find anything that compares to its slip. Does anybody really have one holy grail conditioner? Can you tell me why you like it? Oh, and my properties are medium porous medium thick, if that helps.

I'm a big fan of OGX Coconut Milk. I've tried the expensive ones too, and OGX is the best I've found. It's great for co-washing because it actually foams up a little, and it smells amazing. The Curls Coconut Curlada is good too, but I go through so much it gets as pricey as Devacare.

I use Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a Rinse Out Conditioner. I can't use it the "normal way" because it feels icky in my hair if I do. I use Suave Rosemary Mint Conditioner as a Co Wash. These work beautifully for me.

I've been using Giovanni 50/50 conditioner for several months now and I find it to be pretty reliable. No silicones, lots of slip, pretty good for detangling, not strongly scented. I keep coming back to it, even though I have tried a lot of conditioners in between. It isn't too heavy but it's fairly moisturizing.

I've been using Tresemme Naturals since I went CG and I have repurchased it many times. I like it because it is moisturizing and gives me tons of slip which I really need because I am transitioning and the tangles I get are nuts. It's cheap and it comes with a lot of product, love it

Suave Coconut has been my favorite conditioner for 10-12 years. It's CG friendly, has a great scent, is nice and thick, has good slip, it's cheap and easy to find, and my hair loves it. And it's great for shaving your legs too!

I love Shea Moisture's Coconut & Hibiscus conditioner! My hair needs light products with tons of moisture and this works fantastically. It makes my hair super soft and shiny, and it smells great. ;) I personally think it has good slip, but I do use quite a bit of it and I really take my time detangling. My Shea Moisture Honey & Manuka provides better slip and makes detangling easier than ever, but if I mained that as my conditioner my hair would be oily, weighed down, and limp. It's absolutely fantastic as a deep conditioner for me, though. But maybe try it out if your hair can take heavier products. But if you're like me and need tons of lightweight moisture give the Coconut & Hibiscus a try. :)

Tresemme Naturals, Suave Professionals Shea Butter & Almond or Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom (slightly thicker and more moisturizing than the Coconut one). They all have good slip, smell good & leave my hair visibly softer & silkier right out of the shower (especially the Suave Professionals one!).

Tresseme Naturals Unperfectly Done is my new favorite because it leaves my hair moisturized.

GVP Conditioning Balm because it is a great deep conditioner.

Suave Coconut because its a classic.

White Rain Coconut found at the Dollar Tree and Suave Almond Shea Conditioner. Love this stuff although they have cones.

Kinky Kurly Knot today another classic.

Tresemme Perfectly Undone is my favourite conditioner right now. I find it incredibly versatile! I can co-wash with it, use it as an RO, use it as an LI, even do conditioner-only styling with it. My hair definitely likes it a lot!

Spiral Solutions Protein Treatment as a leave in. No other conditioner has that much protein in it. And now it's leaving…. sob.

Others I use and like include: John Masters lavender and avocado, Aubrey Organics GBP and JAY, KCKT as a pre poo for slip, Mineral Fusion Volumizing. They all have enough protein so as not to weigh down my hair.

Super baby fine hair, low porosity
Shampoos: SM Fruit Fusion (mostly), Avalon lemon (to clarify). Occasional aloe vera and glycerin to wash.

For daily RO, Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil conditioner. It is rich, creamy goodness and I am so glad that Target started to carry it.

For those rare occasions of needing a little protein, any Nature's Gate conditioner or SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Marfura Oil.

Tresemme Naturals NM or RV is a great traveling conditioner as it can be used as co-wash, RO and LI.

I'm a fan of Tresemme Naturals, and their Undone conditioner. Undone and Naturals function very similarly in my hair, so I usually grab whichever one I see first, to be honest.

Basically, I second everything potatohead says. I love how good it is, how cheap it is, and how much you get! Since the rest of my routine is more on the pricier side (products being $10+ is considered pricey to me :p) it's nice to have something that I can get for less than $5. I've strayed from it quite a few times and tried other conditioners both drugstore and high end, but I always end up coming back to Tresemme. Nothing else seems to work better for me. I've been using their conditioners for a couple years now. As someone who is a PJ, I think that speaks volumes for how much I like it.

Oh yes, I also really like SS Caitlin's Conditioner. I use it as a leave in right now so saving it and not using as a RO. But when I used to use it as a RO it left my hair moisturized and curly due to the moisture/protein balance… somewhat similar to AO GPB in that regard.

I have low-medium porosity and thick in density hair. My hair can stand protein, but not too much like you. I tend to focus on buying more natural products when possible.

For daily conditioners I like Acure Organics Moroccan Argan oil, Shea Moisture Manuka honey intense hydration (in the pump bottle), or if I'm splurging Jessicurl Too Shea.

For deep conditioners I have tried almost all the Shea Moisture masques and really like the 10-in1 renewal and manuka honey intense (HG!) varieties. My splurge for a DC would be CJ rehab, as it works great and smells magnificent, but I can't stomach the cost most of the time. My HG protein treatment is Giovanni Nutrafix Hair Reconstructor because it has great slip and never makes me hair feel crispy. Like many others have recommended, I used to really like GVP conditioning balm, but haven't used it for a long time (mostly because it isn't natural based ingredients).

Gotta be Aussie Moist. Maybe a few months or so ago I would have been raving about HEHH, but I know better now. My hair is super dry, and Aussie makes it so soft and moisturized, which shocked my recent stylist, because the top of my hair is *so* dry and damaged it has no porosity whatsoever apparently, but after I started using Aussie, that part not only got soft, but actually started to curl a little, which amazed me. I also like TreSemme Naturals Silicone-Free Conditioner. It comes in a nice sized bottle for a cheap price, and has a pleasant, earthy smell. My only issue is that I need *so much* it goes from cheap to just as costly as any better brand, so Aussie was the product I needed at the right price. Plus the tropical smell is a nice touch. I detect a faint hint of coconuts, which I ADORE, so that's a bonus as well.

    Is it cg?
