Do you all get this???

Do any of you 2's get this "transparency" between clumps?? It drives me nuts. today it is worse because I have oil in it, but no matter how clumps or how separated they are (poofy) I still have some of this. Is it cuz I have such little hair, my ponytail measures at 3.75, thereabouts, a bit less maybe. :wav:

Yes it drives me crazy. I think it's a 2 thing and/or a lower density thing.

i think some of that is just natural. I actually don't see much transparency in the pic!

thanks WavyDaze, you're so sweet :love8: I'm glad you don't see transparency, what I mean, is I can see my "shirt" through the clumps, like each clump is separated, and I see 3's that have "maybe more hair" if that's the case, but all their clumps are so close together, that you don't see their shirt between clumps!!

Thing. It does me too. However start paying attention to women on TV shows. You'll be astounded how many are like us and have transparent ends. It started to make me feel better. We are by no means alone.

Like I said, I don't mean my ends so much, as up closer to my neck, there's "shirt" between all my clumps. You all too??

Well yeah I think that's all connected. I will say. I think layering *helps* with that. At least up higher.

That's actually part of the reason I run a very, very wide-toothed comb through my hair ONE TIME after SOTC. I don't have low density hair; I have tons of hair but I think everybody's hair does this to some degree. I use a Conair Detangling comb that I've broken one whole side of teeth off of. That makes it a REALLY wide tooth comb; doesn't "damage" my hairdo at all but it does remove this transparency and give me my volume back.

Edited: added a picture of one of my combs. I have about seven of these that I made. LOL

I have this big time. Maybe because I had my layers cut closer together? I started wearing my hair down and over my shoulders, half on each side, so that I don't have to wear it in back, because the gaps are so big now. I have low density hair and my guess is this is the bigger issue than the texture. WHen my hair curls I still have the gaps, at least a little.

Yes and while I do have "normal/low" density, I do have medium/coarse strands, but even that doesn't really help. I too, have layers close together, but even if I finger comb it out to separate clumps, I still have it.

I have to disagree with the density thing. I have very high density and get it too. It has to do with my cowlicks.

well thats good to hear!! I just see some curlies who do'n't get it I also think it depends on how good of clumpage you get and how much "spring:"is in the curl

Yasss! I have noticed on tv women always have every bit of their hair laying in front of their shoulders-obviously to make it look like they have a ton of hair and we just assume they have yet more hair in the back too. But they DON'T and of course they probly have all kinds of extensions and extra wavy pieces clipped in. $#($@( those darn celebrities!

OP, I def have transparency too. I have pretty low density. I'd love to get some length so that my ends don't flip out every which way at the tops of my shoulders. I hate it but what can I do? Wear only black shirts, only look at myself in a mirror with a black background haha? Getting fake hair to add to mine would be a good Idea. Actually I was surprised to learn how many of my female friends wear extensions and thickening pieces that I never knew did that.

I say don't even sweat it. Even when my curls are in the type 3 range I get this- I think it happens more with longer hair, too.

When I opened your photo the 'gaps' were probably the last thing I noticed. It looks totally normal to me. :P
