Hello type 3A girls! I' m Marina from Brazil. I'd like to know what leave in conditione you use for 3a types. I'm buying some imported products because in Brazil most products even the expensive ones contain mineral oil and parabens. Thanks for attention. Chears from Brazil!

you don't have to use a leave in, you can make any conditioner you like a leave in. just leave some in. i always do that.

Hi rbb! That's a good idea...Sometimes I use some silicone free conditioners and it works. I also use some treatment cream as a leave in. I' ve bought 2 leave in from the USA..they are vegan products. The name is Dessert Essence. There's coconut in the formula and my hair was gorgeous for 3 days! Do you know this brand?

i confess, it's not my idea, it was what i learned about when i first became cg. most of us curlies do leave in some conditioner. curly hair is dry by nature.

I think it 's sold there. I bought it in Vitacost .com. It's a cheap product and the formula is amazing, but the shipping to Brazil is a little bit expensive. I want to test African pride products and Jessicurl. I'm really interested in too she conditioner.

The best way to choose products is by hair properties and not hair type. Here's a link to help you with yours Curly Hair Basics | Live Curly Live Free Curl type changes depending on product, technique, weather, etc.

Dessert Essence is essentially what we would call a "drugstore" product in the states. I only use those type of products as my rinse out conditioners, as my low porosity hair really doesn't absorb much in the short time I'm in the shower.

If you search, you can probably find threads on drugstore products. You may want to look for them. Once you determine your hair properties, you can look for others with similar hair and see what they use. It's a good place to start. From what I've read on the boards, I think Vitacost probably has the most reasonably costs and shipping for those kind of products. They carry the lines that we might also find in our health food stores (still "drugstore" products IMHO because they are mass produced and less expensive.)
