Kinky-Curly Come Clean Shampoo

Hello! I managed to purchase this as my clarifying shampoo. I know it has the potential to strip my hair of it's natural oils. I was wondering if there was a great method to use with or before, so I won't damage my curls.

So, would a pre-poo w/ oil (overnight) be better, or possibly mixing it w/ some oil?
Ok, it seems counter-productive, but I really need to clarify my hair! Please help! Thank you.

I pre-poo with coconut oil either over night or for a couple hours. I apply and detangle and then wrap my head in Saran Wrap (lol) and put on a beanie. If your only using it occasionally a deep treatment right after would help with any dryness. You could also try diluting it with water and focusing only on the scalp, maybe even applying conditioner to the ends as a bit of a buffer.

I've used this shampoo before and my hair would have that stripped squeaky feeling but after conditioning it was fine.

I would mix it with oils! >< But to be honest, I'm not sure as my hair always dries after clarifying it. Whatever you're going to do, will you please let me know what worked?

So I went ahead and mixed it w/ coconut oil. 1st, I melted about 1/2 a cup (just to be on the safe side) then applied that and detangled my hair. Next, I took about dime more or less amount of the shampoo for each section. Massaged my scalp and rinsed it. Proceeded w/ the rest of my wash (now air-drying).

The mixing worked well! My hair didn't feel stripped! Thanks so much for that! :headbang

Next time, I'll probably do an overnight w/ coconut oil. It's definitely the best oil to detangle my hair. I never thought of using Saran Wrap, I just used plastic bags then covered it with a scarf.

I really only used it, because I panicked after the results of a styler/gel experiment. :banghead:
