Thinning? My crazy mind???

KaZenner1990KaZenner1990 Registered Users Posts: 859
So for the past 2-3 months I kinda think I am thinning on my left side.
As you see I am not sure at all and I am confused tremendously because my shedding is lowering as days go buy and my strands seem to flourish and grow thicker and coarser. They are not brittle nor dry. I managed to trim every 4-5 months and trimming happened because split ends were visible but with no tangling.
I have done blood work and my iron is way normal, my thyroid stats are normal as well.
But my side seems weird to me.
My ponytail measures 4.3 inches.
Some pictures to watch.

These photos do scare me. It looks like there is a gap between my baby hairs and my hairline start point.

A lot of people have a hairline like that, so without knowing what it looked like previously it's a bit hard to say whether it's thinning or not. Your hair generally looks thick and healthy to me.
I'm sure people aren't ignoring you on purpose!

Don't even worry about it, my hairline looks identical to that. I sometimes freak out about it too but then I look at other women and notice its very common. Your hair looks thick and healthy. 😊

Hi Girls, so what are your remedies for hair thinning?
  • KaZenner1990KaZenner1990 Registered Users Posts: 859
I have kinda let this thread die for some reason. I still can't help with the idea that my sides are thinned but it occurred to me that my hair doesn't fall it just grows in thinner?
My ponny still measures the same. So basically my hair looks thinning but it isn't???? I am still puzzled on what it is. Although silicones seem to worsen it?

I am thinking on boosting my hair with some supplements. It can't hurt right?
Although I want some tips on how to remember to take it regularly because honestly sometimes I forget after a while.
Also I have several vitamins. Take all of them as a combo or it would be too much?

    Solgar Hair, Skin and nails
    Solgar 300mg biotin
    Vitarmonyl Nettle Horsetail.

    TIA!

There are so many things people use for hair, and it's trial and error to see what works for you. Use supplements with caution, as some can have strong side effects (one of them did for me). Some people apply sea kelp bioferment or black seed oil to their scalp/thinning patches. There's rosemary (either oil, appiled to scalp), or the plant, taken internally. MSM. Biosil. Biotin. He Shou Wu. All these things, I've heard of people taking to boost hair growth. Whether to take in combo or not is a personal decision. If you want to isolate what helps you, you need to take just one for several months to see if it makes a difference. If you don't mind taking a whole bunch at once then I'd recommend adding a new one every few weeks, to make sure none of them give you unpleasant side effects. As to remembering to take them, I'd take them at mealtime (unless they require an empty stomach). My own personal routine is to start the day with things needing to be taken on an empty stomach, then taking other supplements with meals.

Crazy enough but I have less shedding and hair looks thicker! Cleansed and cut out all silicones off and started Co wash again. Had a haircut too. I hate it when I do bunch of stuff and then dunno what worked. Although stir away of silicones might did the trick. Was it a build up that my low poo couldn't take out? It has coco betaine in though.

Glad you found something that works for you. I wonder if my crazy shedding also has to do with all these products I use.

I can't grasp why my hair feels thinner but my measurements are still the same! My shedding is not more than usual but there are times I feel my hair is so thin looking especially on the sides.

I have more shedding than is normal for me. I think part of it has to do with having used hydrogen peroxide. I recently did an amla treatment with some henna and noticed less shedding today… probably strengthened my hair (hopefully). While the shedding isn't under control yet, I must say my hair has been growing like a weed lately! I've been drinking pure aloe vera juice (inner filet), about 3 TBSP/day. I attribute it to that. I got a haircut I didn't like maybe 3 months ago or less, and my hair is already so long I'll need a trim soon.
I've noticed that some of my friends have mild thinning on the sides as they get a bit older (30s etc). It's probably not noticeable overall, but since it's near your front hairline you may notice it more than others.

I think I stupidly caused it by straightening again exactly when everything was great!
But another thing is that when I Co wash I notice it less. When my hair is down it's not visible because it's on the sides only.
My mother said that I don't have bald patches but that my hair grows thinner on those spots.
I won't deny that I am the worst on what I eat and stuff. I don't drink a lot of water either. It seems that it has to do something with my weight as well. When I start to go lower than 52kg my hair objects. I am 25 already ahhhh.

I can't tell either but my hair seems losing it's volume as it gets healthier. Or become heavier rather. My shedding is total close to minimum which puzzles me. When my hair becomes dry it looks thicker of coarse so maybe my hair seemed thicker when it was dyed because it was frizzy and expanded.

Since I don't have any old pictures to compare I thought I would compare how bad thin my sides are now. My hair is oiled on these pictures. I wonder if the frizz makes my hair SEEM thick.
    What do you think?

Sometimes I think that my hair is thinning but my boyfriend eases my mind by saying that it's just in my mind, which I think is true a lot.

Sometimes I think that my hair is thinning but my boyfriend eases my mind by saying that it's just in my mind, which I think is true a lot.

As someone who has had her hair thinned for 4 different reasons, people who see you all the time don't notice if your hair has thinned until you are basically bald.

Those who see you every 6 weeks-2 months are the ones who notice most plus a lot of men don't notice until they can see your scalp.

My husband says the same. . . that he notices no difference but my ponytail circumference has gone down 1/4 of an inch. when my mom comes from WI (she comes 4 times a year) she says it looks the same. but two things: I don't think she puts much attention to it and 2) she doesn't want to make me cry/hurt my feelings.

My temples and part are thinning some and I'm experimenting with something else at the moment but next I'm going to try Monistat. You can google it as a hair treatment but I've been reading about on LHC. I'm going to try it 3 x week in the spring after I'm done with my current experiment. And before anyone asks it is THAT Monistat. For UK and others there are other brands named too. I think one is Daktarin or something close to that. It's an individual thing and you have to decide for yourself but I'm going to try it.

See a doctor. If he agrees your hair is thinning, start treatments early to prevent further hair loss.
