Hi all! Just wanted to share my hair. I've been no straightening, nopoo, cg method for two weeks. My current products are mixed chicks leave in conditioner and curly kinky gel soufflé. My hair used to be super curly so I'm hoping that it'll eventually get back to its approx 3c self.

Hair type is relatively unimportant. It's transient depending on dewpoint, product, technique, etc. Hair properties are more important for choosing ingredients/products. Here's a link to help you with yours Curly Hair Basics | Live Curly Live Free

It's possible the length/weight of your hair is pulling the curl out. Doesn't look like you have layers. That would help to lighten it and might help you achieve some spirals.

I agree with getting some layers to help your curls along. When mine gets to a certain length, it tends to weight down and not be as curly. I went from 2b(underneath)-3a (on top) to 3a-3b with my recent cut. You'd be surprised what some shorter pieces can do.

Thanks ladies! Im getting a devacut next weekend. I never have my hair cut professionally so i know it def needs it. I usually have a friend trim it straight across. I went to target and bought what products they had that was silicone free which were few choices. When i run out i can hopefully buy some that is right for my hair type. At this point it is weighed down and damaged heavily on the ends.

Mixed chicks leave in conditioner and kinky curly curling custard. The shampoo i use is called bröö off amazon. However for the last week ive been no poo. Something is def weighing my hair down and im not sure if it is product or hair length/damage. I tried bs/v and that helped.

i believe kccc has glycerin in it and that can dry out your hair, make it flat.

here are the ingredients for mixed chicks leave in. i bolded the ingredients that could be problematic -- again, glycerin is only a problem in low dews and very high dews. amodimethicone reportedly does not build up, so not sure how it is behaving on your hair. it is a cone. i am not familiar with most of the ingredients, so....

i don't know anything about broo. look up the ingredients and see what stands out.

I thought glycerin locks in moisture?

glycerin draws moisture from where it can. if the dew points are mid to high, it will take moisture from the air and that makes hair moisturized.
when the air is dry, i.e., low dew points, glycerin draws moisture from our hair, making our hair dry.

I live in Denver so sounds like glycerins are a no no.
