    Hi, Trbl!! How are you?

I've been up to LIFE! lol :-) Grown up a lot, still mother to one and now stepmother to another. Still living in Texas.

The board sure looks different, but in a good way!! I hope all has been well!!

Hi meghuney. I remember your name. I'm still here. Many people have left NC due to various issues. I dislike the way the board looks now. It's hard on my eyes and harder to navigate so I'm not here as often as I used to be. But I still get good information here and like to catch up with old 'friends' so I am still somewhat active here.

My SPIDERLASHES! It's amazing seeing the same names.

Nothing much to update. Older and wiser! Tyson is 9 now...(I hate that they grow up) and I'm stepmom to a 6 year old. I own a salon (imagine that! lol) and am doing well.

How are you? I'm looking forward to hearing about how life is going for all of you!

You got married? Did your son's father wind up losing his sight in one eye? Are you a licensed cosmetologist? You're not still in journalism? Wow, your little boy isn't so little anymore...bet he's gorgeous!

Oh boy! lol! Reminds me of all the craziness going on during my time here!

Yes, I am married to a wonderful man named Michael. :-) He had one son prior to our meeting and of course I had Tyson. I lost a child earlier this year but have made peace with it.

Tyson's father is still a mess. He has his periods of doing well and not doing well. He ended up seeing out of both eyes but has trouble still with one. We cut romantic ties years ago, thankfully, and have both moved on. We are friendly and often the four of us (myself, Michael, Ty's father and girlfriend) spend time together with or without the children. That sounds weird to some people but both of us have moved on an realize that our relationship was a childish one and unhealthy. So it's easy to maintain a decent friendship for the sake of our son.

Funny you should mention journalism as I am FINALLY finishing my Bachelor's in that very subject in September. An old high school friend of mine and his wife (neither do hair) started a salon in the Houston area that became VERY successful. I decided to purchase a franchise and now there are several of the salons in the Louisiana and Texas areas. But writing is still my true love and recently the old newspaper I worked for years ago contacted me about freelancing. I'm excited about that.

That's awesome! But so sorry to hear of the loss of your baby.

What made you come back here? And do you plan to stick around??!

    You look great.

For the last few days, I had been thinking about it for some reason. I had an off day today with a couple of hours to just hang out and decided to poke my head in!

I hope to stick around. Now YOUR turn! Tell me all about what has been going on with you for the last almost-decade!!!

My daughter just turned 10 and I have a little boy who just turned 7. In 2009, I separated from their father and we went thru the longest divorce in the history of our county which was just finalized late last year. Life is finally starting to feel normal again and I'm in a relationship w/ someone I really love. Thinking about buying a bar/nightclub in the next few years.

A bunch of folks left here over a year ago to start a FB group bc there were issues they didn't like here. Now the active membership is really small but the vibe is good.

    I hope you stay.

I'm still here. Just not as much as in the past. I do remember you. Glad to here all is going good for you.
    From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."

SPIDER - I am so sorry to hear about your divorce. :-( But congrats on the new addition and the great relationship! Doesn't it feel GREAT to finally be out of something bad and into something right? I feel so silly for dealing with all that I did previously. Good luck on buying the bar/nightclub! This ownership thing has been a rollercoaster for sure, but fortunately, profitable.

ROU - Ohhhh seeing your name makes me so happy! You were one of the ppl I remember the most. I hope all is well with you. Congrats on the house, move and new job! And hey - being single is MUCH better than a crappy relationship.

Lotsa - and I remember you as well. :-) I'm so glad everyone is doing well and that several people are still here.

I pop in here from time to time, but mostly lurk.

We were friends on MySpace, lol. Not sure when I bailed on that account though. But I do remember seeing pics of your son and he was just a toddler.

Oh, wow! I thought of you just LAST WEEK - I remember when I was going through all that craziness with my ex and you called me :)

Anyway, I'm so glad to see you back to check in. Life sounds great!

I got divorced almost 6 years ago, Brooklyn is now 7 and ridiculously smart and sassy, I've been promoted, bought my first house almost 3 years ago, and I'm getting married in June. He's the best.

    Short and sweet!
