Please don't let it be Angelina Jolie or Halle Berry.

    I agree.

I was wondering if there's a Bollywood star who might fit the bill?
  • scrillsscrills Posts: 6,700Registered Users
you gave give it up. You know it would be Angelina. I almost said that in my first post, LOL
  • claudine191claudine191 Curl Connoisseur Posts: 8,221Registered Users Curl Connoisseur
    In that case, not interested.
  • multicultcurlymulticultcurly Curl Connoisseur Posts: 5,136Registered Users Curl Connoisseur
Lol. I figured it would be Angelina too as first choice and then Halle as a second choice. Maybe Nicole Kidman if the producers want someone who can act, a mistake mature but can still be sexy

As far as Bollywood stars, I assume it would be Aishwarya Ray (sp?). She's smart IRL but her acting isn't great.

Wasn't his appearance described in the novels? I think he is supposed to be blue-eyed with shaggy hair? Why a female Bond?

Confession: I have never once seen any of the movies.

^I've never seen any either. Caught bits here and there if someone else has been watching, but never been tempted to watch a whole movie, not my cup of tea.

multicultcurly - interesting that you would think Nicole Kidman if they want someone who can act. She's the last person who would come to my mind if that were the criteria!

Yeah I'm also a stickler for characters appearing the way they do in the books. However since Jane's Bond hasn't always conformed to the book character and many people don't realize he is based on a book, I can live with a nonwhite Bond. Lol

Why not just make it his long lost badass Black cousin?:profileright:

Lol @SL. That is totally plausible though. And I can't believe autocorrect made it Jane's bond - not James. Lmao

A female Bond should definitely be Halle Berry; otherwise, Roger Moore. I do miss Pierce.

It's not easy being a princess, but hey, if the crown fits.

Well, given your tastes, I guess I can see why you'd think so.

Omg. I'm so out of the know now. For whatever reason I kept seeing Djimon Hounsou's face instead of Idris Elba's. Ok. Idris is handsome enough to be James Bond. Lol.

James Bond should always be anglo saxon. Because he is anglo saxon :/. And he should have black hair. If you're blonde, dye your hair because James Bond's hair is dark. Yes talking about you mr Craig.

And James Bond is already ruined thanks to Daniel Craig so even a woman can portray James Bond now so I dont care.

Edit: Looking at Idris' photos again, he is fit for a role like James Bond. But thing is, JB is anglo saxon. If a white person would play Nelson Mandela, that would be weird too. Idris Elba was awesome as Mandela btw, so he fits a hero role.

Things are going silent for Wentworth Miller and I think Wentworth Miller would make a huge comeback if he was playing James Bond. He is something fresh and different. I know he is mixed, but he passes as anglo saxon. As long if you look like a dark haired anglo saxon you can be James Bond.

Edit2: ok Idris is a good candidate for James Bond. I think I was suffering from that "hatin' cuz I'm not used to you" syndrome. I got over it quickly though, because I kinda like his personality. Yep. Daniel Craig still sucks as James Bond tho. Hope Idris fixes James Bond. But by the time Daniel Craig stops Idris is old :/ ugh...

Please tell me that you are joking! Do you realize that James Bond is a fictional charater while Nelson Mandela was an actual person. Being thet Bond was fictional, why does he have to be white?

I already changed my mind a looong time ago :D and realized that. He doesnt have to be white at all. I like him as a James Bond. Think I already said that a couple times..and I think I said that because he was described as white with dark hair, and I'm very picky if I read a book.

Giving thanks to you and fifi for correcting me. I made a mistake indeed. I should realize that he is fictional, therefor can be anything. Not relevant but I stand firm that they shouldnt have made certain books into movies, because they suck and were completing nothing like the book.
But james bond novels werent brilliant or realistic and most I think prefer the the movies now anyways..so I honestly dont care. But Idris Elba would make an awesome James Bond I think. I like him.

Yes, I saw that you changed your mind about Iris, but I still thought comparing him to Nelson Mandela was a litte

Bond was described as white (partially because of when it was written but also) because the author was describing a particular man that actually exists. With Bond being played by many people over the years, I think the thought is that he should be tall, dark and handsome with a British accent. Everything else is up for grabs.

And agreed. The movies are bigger than the books

    Per wikipedia, cold and handsome....

Fleming decided that Bond should resemble both American singer Hoagy Carmichael and himself[6] and in Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd remarks, "Bond reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael, but there is something cold and ruthless." Likewise, in Moonraker, Special Branch Officer Gala Brand thinks that Bond is "certainly good-looking ... Rather like Hoagy Carmichael in a way. That black hair falling down over the right eyebrow. Much the same bones. But there was something a bit cruel in the mouth, and the eyes were cold."[6]

Gary cooper reminds me of the actor that plays Mr. Big in this pic

Oh, he was soooooooo much cooler. And lean where Big was burly.

Yes Gary Cooper was beautiful when he was young. Omg. Big doesn't come close with his huge nose. I think Big is sexy but Gary Cooper was more classically handsome. The James Bond in the sketch is handsome.
