SM Thickening Shampoo+ Tigi MM

I Used SM thickening shampoo for the first time yesterday. After I used Moisture Maniac as a leave in as I normally do.
My hair definitely had more body and is wavier but it is also stiff. It feels very "coated". When I woke up this morning the only way I could tame it was to wash it again.
Does anyone know what SM uses to "thicken" the hair? Maybe I should try it without a leave in?

I can get that feeling from shea products if it is cold out especially.

I will add most products that say "Volumizing" make my hair feel a little that way.

My hair felt coated like that when I used the deep conditioner from that line. I assumed it was the shea and other oils that are the top ingredients, as my hair reacts similarly to all their lines I've tried.

As for the thickening I may be wrong but I think it's the yucca and it also has protein kinda high on the ingredients list.

Thanks chupie and lolo for the info. It's odd. I had to wash my hair again this morning. Even after washing with diluted sulfate shampoo I can still smell the SM! It's not stiff anymore. It must still be in my hair. How can that be?? It was shampoo not conditioner.
I don't think SM products are for me. Which stinks because I have at least 7 different SM products that are new or almost new. They seem to either itch my scalp or make my hair weird. Oh well...back to the drawing board.

You may have to clarify- the coconut and hibiscus SM shampoo did that to me. I used it as a body wash after that- it was wonderful. I used up the deep conditioner as a pre poo when I knew I'd be using shampoo. I also used other conditioners I didn't like on my hair as shave gel and with dry skin all over my body then rinsing like those olay shower lotions that I used to buy.

That makes sense. Can you imagine having to clarify to get residue from shampoo out of your hair?! I guess it's the "thickening" stuff. Makes sense that it has the potential to build up.
