KCCC For Waves?

I just ordered the Kinky Curly Curling Custard in hopes of getting more defined waves. Do any of you guys have tips on applying the product? I have thick, fine, low porosity hair that struggles to hold curl. I have the knot today and the come clean shampoo and I love them both, but I heard this product has a bit of a learning curve. Tips? :)

Hair Type:
Low-Normal Porosity, Fine (with random coarse strands), Medium Density, Type 2a-2c

Look up the smaster's technique. I have used it, just not with kccc, and it's magical!
2c/3a mix and very fine, normal porosity
Shampoo: Loreal EverSleek Sulfate-free (Only 1 or 2x a week)

CoWash Suave Naturals Coconut or VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze

Rinse Out: Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil or GVPCB

Leave in: More Suave Naturals Coconut or GVPCB Always diluted with water/epsom salt spray

Products: AG Re:coil with EcoStyler Olive Oil gel or HETT gel

It seems to be either great or not great with little in between. I find Camille Rose CurlMaker to be similar but it works for me where KCCC does not.

I have been loving KCCC the last 5 months. Instead of putting them in separate, I have been mixing KCKT and KCCC together. I rake in and scrunch.

Start with less product than you think you need. The first several weeks I used too much and have since learned that a little goes a long way. Have fun with new product!

I bought and traded/sold it a few times before I got it to work. It really helped that I put in a bottle with a pump so I could control how much I was using. It sometimes leaves this weird dry feeling, sort of like glyercin acts in my hair in the lower dews. I generally only like using KCCC in the spring/summer since it can also take awhile to dry!

I like mixing KCCC with another curl enhancer and then top with a hard hold gel like BRHG.
Coarse texture, normal-high porosity, normal elasticity (Komaza Care), very weak waves
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix

rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Beauticurls, CJ Smoothing

    jellies/creams: CR Curl Maker, KCCC
gels: CJ CQ, CJ Pattern Pusha, BRHG

In case any of you were wondering, I tried it out today and got pretty good results! I first washed my hair with the come clean shampoo and condtioned with knot today, leaving a bit in my hair for a leave in. I then coated my hair in the custard with a quarter size amount, making sure to keep my hair soaking wet, and twisted/finger curled my whole head and then scrunched it throughout the drying process(which I know, is a no no for a lot of wavies but whatever it works for me haha.) The only downside was that my hair kept falling in my face when it was wet and it took really long to dry. My hair felt stiff and looked stringy when it was wet but dried soft and clumpy. I then added the tiniest bit of knot today when it was dry to give it some shine and voila! My 2a waves are bouncy, shiny, and more defined! I'm pretty happy with this purchase. :)

I'm so glad it worked for you! I actually just finished my old jar and am going to be trying a harder hold gel for the winter. My issue with KCCC was not that it didn't work but that I'd get super defined curls that would then fall flat and wouldn't hold up for 2nd day hair (which is my goal). ANYWAY, will probably revisit in the summer.

When I used it, I used to co-wash, condition, and then put some of the KCKT on my ends and scrunch my hair til it's damp. Then I put about a quarter to half dollar size amount in my hand, bend my head forward and scrunch in. Just in case you want to try it another way ;)
2C/3A; very, very thick fine to medium hair; low porosity.

    Current Products:

Conditioner: Shea Moisture Tahitian Masque, Aubrey Organics GPB, Shea Moisture
Leave-In: Coffee Coco Curl Creme, Coffee Coco Curl Creme Lite
Stylers: Mop Top Curl Custard, Shea Moisture Curl Custard[/FONT]

What DOES work for me is the Kinky Curly Spiral Spritz for refreshing definition on dry hair. I think it might just basically be watered down KCCC.
