KCCC For Waves?

in Hair Type 2
I just ordered the Kinky Curly Curling Custard in hopes of getting more defined waves. Do any of you guys have tips on applying the product? I have thick, fine, low porosity hair that struggles to hold curl. I have the knot today and the come clean shampoo and I love them both, but I heard this product has a bit of a learning curve. Tips?

Start with less product than you think you need. The first several weeks I used too much and have since learned that a little goes a long way. Have fun with new product!
I like mixing KCCC with another curl enhancer and then top with a hard hold gel like BRHG.
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix
rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Beauticurls, CJ Smoothing
jellies/creams: CR Curl Maker, KCCC
gels: CJ CQ, CJ Pattern Pusha, BRHG

When I used it, I used to co-wash, condition, and then put some of the KCKT on my ends and scrunch my hair til it's damp. Then I put about a quarter to half dollar size amount in my hand, bend my head forward and scrunch in. Just in case you want to try it another way
