November Hits and Misses

in Hair Type 4
Hi curlies
November is here and soon that sacred product junkie holiday Black Friday will be upon us.
miss - thinking I could use refresh my Ecostyler hair way I used to use with lighter gels. Drench my hair to rinse some of it out then add a little more product and be good. No. Eco does not rinse out for me. Before now I had been using a clarifying conditioner followed by a regular conditioner to scrub most of it out. I can't seem to get it all out with conditioner. Then I would add more product. Anyway I now I have way too much product is my hair. It was a bun day today. Shampoo tomorrow.

Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

Hit and a Miss- Monoi Repairing Hair Mask by Carol's Daughter. it left my hair feeling really nice and the smell was of. But something about it made me itchy:angry1:
I bought a bottle of pure marula oil from Sally's and I have been putting a few drops in my li mix along with JBCO. I like it.
miss: tightlining. Still working on it, but thus far no success.

Ama-ZING! Fantas-TIC!
Pros: Slippage is great, scent is light and pleasant, shed hairs just come away so easily, very creamy and adds *butter* softness to hair almost immediately, aids clumping and coil definition
Cons: Not as much coil hang time as when I use rhassoul clay.
Note: I applied KCCC and KCKT (awful combo--turned white) afterward and diffused, so I am unsure if I can use this as a stand alone L-I just yet.:afro:

This is something I wouldn't have bought because of my love hate or usually hate hate with most things coconut oil, but I received a free bottle at a natural hair meetup. I gave away some of what I received like the Miss Jessie's and Blue Magic without trying it but decided since this has coconut oil gardenia tahitenis extract flower as the 6th ingredient and no protein listed it might not be so bad. Anyway I washed my hair with a mix of conditioner and a little shampoo to help get my gel out, then another conditioner with teatree, then I sectioned my hair in six parts and used just maybe a quarter size of curlada in each section raking it through. I could see my hair being moisturized. I left in a few minutes and rinsed it out. Then applied my leave in and gel. I could see a visable improvement in my curls. Today I had very little frizz. My hair has been looking good lately but today was extra good. My coworkers even noticed. Definitely a keeper. I think it is too expensive as a cowash but since a little goes a long way for me I would repurchase as a rinseout.
Yep I love this conditioner. Haven't used it in a while though. The kids version at Target has pretty much the same ingredients.

HIT! Alba Botanica Volumizing Conditioner - great slip, lightweight, great definition: uniform fat clumps of curls, volume, a great condish as CO/RO/LI, and may be a styler under oil.
HIT! Paul Mitchell FlexibleStyle Conditioning Sculpting Foam - lightweight, great shine and definition: uniform fat clumps of curls, volume and really decent hold.
HIT! DIY Okra Jelly - slip isn't too great and I put too much gums so it can easily be too crunchy, flaky and feel producty, but can be easily resolved with mixing it with a good LI, it also gives me great definition, volume, hold and 3-days hair. I will need to fix the ratio of additives for the next batch, but so far not bad!
HIT! DIY Lightening Hair Mask - have only tried twice, but looks promising thus far, plus it makes the hair feels so plush and soft and the smell is just amazing and lasts 2 washings!
MISS! TIGI Bed Head For Men Charge Up Thickening Conditioner - it does all the good thing for a conditioner for curly hair, can also be a CO, but for some reason makes my curls stringier despite of different stylers I tried.MISS! Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream - it's actually pretty okay, good definition and all, although not CG safe, but it's nothing for me to rave about, especially that it's not available on the ground here.
MISS! Garnier Fructis Endurance 24H Gel - this is also not so bad, but I just can't stand commercial gels thus far, gives good definition but not lightweight enough for my hair.
