What are your favorite Youtube tutorials of whatever type? Why? Do yuo mostly just watch for the content or does the vlogger/tutor/host do something for you?

Generally, I only watch makeup tutorials. I'm a huge fan of GossMakeupArtist, and that's really the only vlogger I watch regularly. Besides that, I'll search for eyeshadow looks and just click on looks that are appealing.

I love Lisa Eldridge. She is my favorite when it comes to general makeup tutorials. She might go all out and contour someone from time to time but it's mainly minimal, what is best for people who range from pale to the deepest complexions, and really beautiful. She has been doing it a long time and has some really good knowledge to share.

Other than Lisa I will watch some Pixiwoo looks. They do a lot of Halloween makeup, and copies of editorial looks, which I also like to watch. They have some really nice guide to foundations videos. All Clinique, Estee Lauder, MAC, Drug Store, Channel... They give you the run down, specific (color range/skin types) for each brand.

I have watched some of Nicole Guerriero. Again, she does Halloween looks and I sometimes like to watch her haul videos, just to see what is new in the world of makeup I can't easily get my hands on. For the most part I find a lot of her looks too full on, but pretty. She has a natural talent. That said, I'm glad she has calmed down on the bright violet and barbie pink lipsticks.

Really got into watching Killer Colours for a little while. Young, Swedish, covered in tats, incredible nose for perfumes, and most her looks were everyday. She was just entertaining and not one of the many Kim K all out contour queens, but she has not posted a new video in a long time.

Robin Moses is a great artist and does some really cool nail tutorials. You can't even begin to copy several of them. I just like to watch her create on tiny spaces. Hair... It just depends on what I am looking for or have a question about.

Makeup is not my only thing. I watch some gamer vlogs. The Amazing Atheist, occasionally. I am not Atheist myself and care not that he is. He cracks me up when he spirals into a rant about one of many topics (I'm offended that you're offended. *"I don't want to dance to Gaga right now but porn is making me do it" ) but I have to take him in spurts. I might go 5 months and then watch a few of his videos. If Im in the mood to throw something at the tv, I'll watch some feminist vloggers I can not stand. There are many of those. They have no idea what they are even talking about, but please send money!

    I rarely subscribe to anyone.

I feel like KK has too much product on her face usually as a result of all that highlighting and contouring and the smokey eye/nude lips combo is not something that would suit me and I feel it's been done to death. That isn't to say that she doesn't look nice, but I tend to go in the opposite direction: easy on the eyes, color on the lips and light, dewey foundation. This makes 90% or more of YT makeup tutorials completely useless to me.

She does. What was I watching the other day... I don't remember but someone brought up most the women in that family wearing the fullest coverage you can find. Most celebs do (which I don't personally consider them celebs) and that is why they look flawless but it's way too much for a day to day look. Full coverage foundation, an absolute ton of concealer, highlighters, contour colors, more concealer, powder, blush, shadow, lashes, brows... I don't know how her face does not drag the floor from the weight alone.

I have one full coverage foundation for special occasions, which means it rarely gets used. The rest of mine are light to medium, build able in areas if needed, and I'll do every finish. Satin, Matte, Dewy... I like them all but Matte is my least favorite.

I agree about a majority of the tutorials being useless. I like to look at different tutorials but so many are the same old, same old, copy Kim K while blinding you with 60's & 80's lipstick videos.

I can say I love Shameless Maya when it comes to hair videos. I really don't watch those very often. I'll go on product and product review binges, watch a ton, and then back off. Her videos usually makes me laugh and I have caught a few where she brings in friends and covers several hair types.

I know one makeup whatever (not really an artist) videos I do not care for is Carli Bybel. It's not that she does a horrible job. It's the same as several others but I watched one or two of her videos, noticed they all started with some type of inspirational messages, and ran in the other direction. I'm far too cynical for that.

I don't watch much at all in the way of tutorials but I did recently discover him and spent way too much time watching!

Goss is fun to watch. I do not watch him regularly but I check in a few times a year and watch a ton of his videos. He cracks me up when he goes on a huge haul and is like, "before anyone b**ches, here is my receipt to show I bought this myself". He can get snappy but you can't really blame them with the way people get jelly and fuss in the comments. He's also funny when he looks at specific makeup trends and say.. Terrible! I keep seeing this on young girls and It's hideous, unless you like that type of thing. Lol. He can get away with a bit more.

The majority of my YT subs are gaming channels. I think that the makeup 'guru' scene is so overinflated now, it's all the same amateurs doing all the same ****. I just cba with it. The only 2 I subscribe to are Lisa Eldridge and Goss. They're the most professional I've come across, that being said I'll only watch a video they post if it's of interest to me.

I'll share these videos from KillerColours. I mentioned her earlier. She has not posted anything new in a long time. These videos, showing her perfume collection, were the first 2 I watched and I was mind blown.

    She has a brilliant nose.

I think she is a better blogger than a vlogger. She's a good one for slightly more bold but still wearable look.

I bought one lipstick on account of her, but it looks much more interesting on her than on me (Laura Mercier stickgloss in Rosewater).

This is what I had hoped for, but on me the pink is more cool-toned.

I've never read her blogs. I'll have to check that out.

I think she's cute as a vlogger because she is sometimes a little awkward but interesting. That goodness it's not another cookie cutter ;)

I hate that! You think a lipstick is absolutely beautiful on someone but nope!! Not the same.

I have no idea!! I have a grad total of 4 perfumes and am almost out of 3. Some I wear in the summer and some in the fall/winter. I can't find that many that smell good on me.

I love her comments about the perfumes too. Smells like old leather couch. Haha. It's amazing how much she picks up, bottle after bottle.

I was into the makeup tutorials sometime ago, until I decided one day that I prefer my own techniques and products, no matter what the vloggers have to say. I will occasionally search for a specific technique or product reviews. More often, I will do a google images search to check out swatches.

I love youtube for practical how to videos - how to sew, how to crochet, how to cut sweet potato fries, how to connect a DVD player to a cable box, etc.. I love videos without a whole lotta superfluous chit chat. I have a lot of subscriptions and favorite yoga and fitness videos. I also like to watch Conan, Late Night, Tonight Show and other video clips. I don't actually watch the late night talk shows but they post some entertaining clips so I have them in my feed.
