How to protect my hair without satin?

curlysophiecurlysophie Registered Users Posts: 216 Curl Neophyte
For the past couple months I have been sleeping on a cotton pillowcase with a satin bonnet. Unfortunately, the bonnet ripped  I'm asking for a satin pillowcase for Christmas, but until then what are some ways to protect my hair at night? (I'm a kid so I can't just go out and buy a pillowcase!)
Thank you!

Could you buy a satin scarf? Im not sure if that's any cheaper.

If you or your mother has an old satin slip, you could use that as well!

I think any material that has a shiny surface could do the trick. If still that is unavailable I would increase the moisture to make up for the loss during the night. I myself use a satin/polyester scarf around my pillow with the shiny side touching my hair/face. I plan on getting satin fabric and sew my own pillow case but I always seem to forget.

Another way is to use a some sort of hairband around your head to protect your edges and nape area. The material can be shiny or not. As I said again the problem you will probably face is frizz and moisture loss. Those can be changed ormanaged somehow.

You can take a satin scarf and wrap it around your head. As a kind of headband. Instead of a pineapple. I do this beause a "normal" pineapple gives me frizz. You could maybe buy cheap satin and make your own pillowcase (or even a scarf if you're handy). and I don't know about you, but I find that Silksatin does not make way of a difference. Polyester satin works just fine for me.

The problem I seem to face myself with the satin wrap is that it falls apart!

Have to admit that it's a bit tricky.
I'm doing it this way I wrap the scarf around my head with ears covered and then I gently get my ears out. It slides a bit during the night but never too much. I find satin pillowcases not comfortable to sleep on. But that's just me.

Thank you all for all your replies! I think what I'm gonna have to do is just try to increase my hair's moisture.
