How often do you moisturize your hair?

africanaafricana Registered Users Posts: 65 Curl Neophyte
My general routine has to been to shampoo and deep treat once per week. Then on soaking wet I apply leave in then seal with a oil or butter. However, I feel like after 3-ish days, my hair will not super dry has lost some of the moisture. I just hate as a type 4 who does not do wash and goes, to have to take down and re-manipulate my hair. I have been post gym been put a bit of olive oil in my hand and rubbing it on my wet hair, but it only coats the top of my hair, not all of the strands.

high porous coilies, curlies, and wavies, how often do you moisturize your hair? what do you use to seal in the moisture? how long does it last?

i think we need to wash/cowash/or wet our hair more than once a week. i think 2x/week is minimum -- water is moisture, so we need to moisturize it with water, then conditioner/sealant.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(

I find that in order to calm frizz I have to wet my hair in some extend if not pretty much wet. Is it a porous trait? Although lately there are only some parts that do that and not all my hair possible because new hair growth is coming in. But adding conditioner is always weighting down my hair even though it's porous.

If it's low dew points/low humidity, I moisturize daily with steam from the shower and a leave-in (Nu-Gro Mo Spray w/Moisturizer) that doubles as a sealer. Once in a while I'll use castor oil, tamanu oil, Shima oil, or even CD Macadamia Smoother on the ends.

For high dew points/high humidity, I use a variety of leave-in's. I don't need a sealer during this climate.

Every day I put TRESemme conditioner (the rinse-out) in my hair to re-moisturise. I don't use oils or butters or creams. Just the conditioner.

once a day or every other day with water & mousse. I don't bother with conditioners or leave-ins as they make my hair feel waxy & weighed down. less = more with my hair.
